I need a new blender since my Montel machine died. I was planning on a Vista Mix but just checking to see what other options I should consider.

I have had my New Vitamix for a little over a week. WOW it makes all my smoothies super smooth. I didn;t know they could get this way. I love the fact I have a tamper to push food if I need to. The lid locks on easily and stays. Fits on the base easily and does not have to be turned and turned like the Blentec to get it just right.
My Raw instructor has a Blendtec and wishes she had gotten a Vitamix.
I watch Kevin Gianni and he was using someones Blendtec and did not like it. So I am glad I went the Vitamix way.

I have the BlendTec and love it. We make green smoothies twice a day and I'm amazed that this blender can completely blend whole flax seeds and raspberry seeds into a smooth consistency, not to mention all the greens and other veggies I add (even raw beets!). I have never used a VitaMix so I can't compare it to that but I was reading a comparison of the two on a green smoothie website and the author said the BlendTec has a 3 hp motor instead of 2.5 hp so that influenced my choice as well. I'm sure either one is a sound investment. I remember being horrified by the price of my blender and now feel it was worth every penny and then some! :)

I have a vitamix and and it's just amazing, I just used it 3 hours ago to make a fruit sorbet. I can't say enough great things about it, the tamper just takes it to another level completely. I am sure you will love whichever model you decide on.
Have FUN!

Me too! I love my Vita-Mix.
I think it has a longer warranty than the Blend Tech, but not sure of that so you may want to check that out.
Either way you go, getting a good blender is worth the investment.:)

hi johnled! I have both. For me, the Vita Mix has been in the shop for repairs more than my Blandtec. I do some heavy duty recipe creation and i have loaned my Vita Mix several times. They are also not very friendly when it comes to returning it to the company for repairs. The Blentec is FAR more powerful and it's the one i go to 99% of the time.

Blentec also has additional jars with lids that you can purchase of various sizes. Also the blades at the bottom of their jars are safer, they are not sharp, so you dont lose a finger. Vitamix doesnt have that feature. If your looking for power, Blentec all the way.
