I am getting this excruciating headache with nausea(yesterday was still managable), and I am not craving any food yet, so I would like to go on, but I would have to take Advil or something like that. Is it still safe to do so on the sixth day of the fast?

It's not dangerous per se, but I'd advise against it. It's a drug and will totally undo the good you have been doing. Are you consuming enough water? Can you sleep it off?

I don't think I can sleep it off. I didn't take medication in my chidbirth, but my headaches are worse. I drink water and juices and even do enemas. The funny thing is that my first juice fast of 10 days was just fine. Maybe this time I am cleansing deeper?

I wouldn't -- but I haven't taken a single pill for a single thing since I went raw. I've had some killer detox in there, but for the most part I stuck it out with extra water, extra sleep, heating pads, ice packs, etc. when I've dealt with awful pain.

Unfortunately, things like Advil really mess with your stomach. They're better taken with food in there, even if raw. I really, really wouldn't do it on a juice fast.

That's just me! I'm no doctor!

I hope you feel better soon! You WILL get through this a more vibrant person. And DO NOT feel like you must continue the fast if your body is telling you to ease off. Perhaps a green smoothie would help since it is still liquid but will give you the fiber to help get the bad stuff moving??

OK, keep us updated! :)

The reason one has headaches when fasting is because of detoxing. One way to stop the detox is to take more of the stuff the body is attempting to eliminate.

I would like to go on, but I would have to take Advil or something like that What if this were not true? What if you waited it out just one more day and the headache went away and you were finally free?

How about asking for suggestions to ease the symptoms rather than doing what you've always done?

My suggestions ~ get in the shower and do some hot/cold showers; pour cold water over your head; use some essential oils (http://revvellations.com/weekly/essential-oils-mini-guide/) to ease the symptoms; pull your ears; pull your hair; get out and do some movement ~ yoga, walking, breathing; do some EFT...

There are so many alternatives than drugs.

Anyone else have suggestions? How have YOU eliminated a headache besides drugs?

Essential oils rock!

I had a bad headache last week while shopping at our health food store. They have essential oils (with testers). One of the formulations was for headaches, so I dabbed the oil from the tester on my temples as directed and sure enough, the headache went away. I firmly believe that the oil really helped ease the pain, or maybe it changed my awareness so I didn't perceive the pain any more.

Revvell, thanks for providing the link to the essential oils part of your site!

Thank you all for sugestions. I did take Advil, because pain got so bad, that I could care less if it was healthy or not. I was laying in the bed whole morning, because it is better, if I lay in the darkened quiet room. Now my son is back, but hopefully his Dad will take him out. I didn't even want any juices either, but I made myself watermelon juice anyway.
I believe, that if my body doesn't want to eat even in this situation, the best is to listen. Theoretically it would probably be the best to stop the fast.
