hi

I was wondering , is it good to do a salt water flush
when you are water fasting ?

do you cleanse your body more or
will the flush disturb the water fast ?

I would think it would just dehydrate the body. being salt, not to mention the body does not digest salt(from my knowlege). But im not an expert on it, just thought id add my thoughts..

Hi, Starck. I have done extended water fasts. The first was medically supervised by a doc who eats all raw whole foods. So I value that perspective. He also is extremely familiar with water fasts.

His response to my same question was that a cleanse -- he did not specify a salt cleanse, we were just talking colon cleanse -- would be very easy IF the body is rehydrated. (And conversely, the reason cleanses are so hard on many is that they are not hydrated properly before the cleanse.)

He said at some point in the water fast, my body would get to a state of hydration and I would find myself feeling I couldn't drink any more water. (This is NOT the same as people who don't drink a lot, aren't used to drinking a lot of water, etc., say they can't drink a lot of water or any, who are actually dehydrated but don't know it!)

Sure enough, I think it was day five, I got that feeling of total refusal to drink. So that would be the time to do a cleanse.

Hope this helps. :)

very interesting perspective soose.

a SWF can be done while water fasting if you choose to do one. ;)

And I am sure I don't need to say for this audience, but will just because you never know who in future might read this, you have to KEEP drinking lots of water even though you reach that point of rehydration, and I'd think especially if you are doing a cleanse. Right? :)

Hello i began a juice/water fast 3 days ago (this is day 4). I start my day with some type of fruit (frozen, fresh mixed with water) now should i be watching my portions? i usually just fill a big cup up with the juice mixture. Lunch is a mix of lettuce, celery, and carrot mixed with 2 cups water, and the rest of my meals one around 3'oclock and the the other around 7'oclock i just drink tea. I guess my one concern is should i be watching the my portions on the juice mixture?
