What would be the ideal ratio of greens to fruit in a smoothie. I'm not terribly found of the taste of greens and have been hiding them with more fruit then I probably should. I wonder if I'm getting too much sugar?

What I'm making taste great and my grandkids will even drink a little.

My normal smoothie is 1 or 2 bananas, 5-6 strawberries, 1 kiwi, 1/4 of a pineapple and a big hand full of greens (spinach & kale) with just enough water and/or soy milk to make it a little thicker then milk. This is my normal concoction but I often toss in whatever else may be in the fridge like carrots, blue berries, etc...

I tried adding almonds or walnuts but every time I did I got a sickly feeling and spent half the day laying around. I was allergic to walnuts as a kid.

Thanks!

Hey there! I don't think there's any set ratio. It's what YOU want to do. How you like the taste of it. This is all about you and your body and your taste buds...

Have fun. Experiment!

Your "normal" concoction sounds yummy. I use lemon in mine to increase my alkalinity...

I've heard 60 fruit 40 veggie.

But I guess it would be as much greens as you can and still be tasty!

Exactly, the ideal ratio is the one that taste best to you. If you don't enjoy it, then there's no point to it.
However, many people will find that they want more and more greens in their smoothies as time goes.

If you want a creamier smoothie you might want to put half an avocado in it.
