Hello all! This is particularly exciting news... French chef Jean Pierre has had multiple cookbooks published, owned the Left Bank Restaurant for 22 years (called one of the best restaurants in the USA by ALL the big foodie magazines), has had a nationally syndicated cooking show, is an icon in the cooked food world, and to date has now taught 17 THOUSAND students at his cooking school.

This will be the VERY FIRST uncooking class ever held at Jean Pierre's school in Ft. Lauderdale. Assuming it goes well, he will make uncooking classes a regular event! This is seriously HUGE for showing the masses just how ridiculously easy it is to make raw, gourmet.

Not to mention about the location -- this will be a VERY hands on course in his kitchen. And let me tell you -- it is IMMACULATE. Even the drain pipes are polished and shiny. It's amazing.

Information and signup are here: http://www.cookingschoolsofamerica.com/chefjeanpierre/index.php?flag_menu_index=reservation_php#2163

His classes typically sell out, so if you want to be a part of the very first uncooking class ever held there, you will seriously need to book quickly! :)

(And you can send me an email if you have any questions about where to stay in Fort Lauderdale that is close and/or good for budgeteers. I actually drove more than 5 hours to meet with him and get this set up... I am so glad to have the excuse to come here again; it's great here!!)

I scrolled all the way down before I realized that you have to search for it with the search term raw to see the class.

That's great! Is your name really Rawposa? It sounds like Mariposa!

When I had my first really big dinner party, you posted that you wished I were down there teaching classes. I looked at that thread again yesterday and saw that, connected the dots. Very funny!

Next time I come, I would love to visit you! :)

I go by my husband's name sometimes -- I'm technically hyphenated but use Rawposa for business because it's so perfect. :)

Funny, I had a friend who came out of the closet and decided to change her name to that (because of the other meaning in Spanish), but only recently realized how similar they are!

And yea -- you have to search for raw food or look for September 19 -- the school's website makes it impossible to just link to the class I'm teaching!

LOL! Actually, in my first meeting with Jean Pierre, it was really a funny conversation. He was telling me how he never eats ANYthing without cooking it, so he will be learning a lot from my class. He's going to be a part of it, but not teaching it.

I feel so weird about shouting it from the roof, like tooting my own horn. And honestly, I ought to. There are a LOT of things I'm not so good at, but making tasty raw food and teaching it in a way that makes it understandable... THAT I am great at! :D
