View Full Version : going to start a true fast

hello, im new here. I know theres alot of threads about starting a new fast. Just wanted to say, I had started a fast 2 days ago. the first day it was like my stomach was eating itself. after the first day past, I felt great. I did not crave food at all, and had so much energy. more energy then I do when I eat food. I was drinking ice tea and water. which stoped the food cravings, whenever I craved food I grabed a cup of water and when they got bad I grabed a cup of ice tea. well on the third day, I was deemed the chef to cook supper for my family. stuffed turky legs marinated in a teryaki/olive oil mixture. it came out great, I was doing good not even wanting to eat it. in fact I wasnt even hungry, but then at the end of the night(im know for night cravings) I gave in, and munched down. well tommorrow I will start a 7-8 day fast. I ate a healthy mill for breakfest dismorning, and will not eat for the rest of the day and night. that way tommorrow ill be ready.
anyway, just thought id share..

I was going to do a water/tea fast again. ice tea is pretty much water so I dont think it will hurt while doing a fast. Ive got chronic eczema bad, so im hoping this will help to detoxify the body and heal it up a bit. ill do a 7-8 day water/tea fast then come out of it with juices or smoothies then start eating veggies and healthy stuff. good luck with your fast starck. Im not sure if its with every one, and its probly because my body was burning energy? or something. but I had alot more energy on the second day of fasting. I couldnt sit still. but im sure that will wear off in day 4 or 5. will find out.

Sue and I are planning ten days starting today.
I live in UK so have 5 hours more before bedtime. I am having iced tea and weak coffee with a tad of milk. I hate black coffee and will be ill if I go cold trukey off caffeine at this point so that'll come next. I cant believe I have got through a day nearly. I will check in every night and please anybody who is around, any support welcome as its my first ever fast.

I, too did not live up to my intentions. I had some veggies, fruit I didn't want to waste and juiced them yesterday. No more room to keep anything in the freezer. I also had coffee. I'm telling you - quitting coffee is as hard for me as it is for some smokers - I am pretty sure of that. I did smoke for about 3 years and I never had the trouble quitting that habit as I do caffeine. I love the taste, the early morning ritual along with a good book and, of course, the kick-start it gives me. All of this in spite of everything I know about how harmful it is. Sigh.
I am drinking water all day - so today would be my 1st day. It won't be easy. I will try hard though and get back here tonight to report in. We can do this. Anyone who doesn't know about fasting on water should read up on it as much as possible. One could get too many toxins pouring out into their bloodstream (from what I've read) and this might make you have some pretty ghastly symptoms. I haven't experienced anything other than being "dog-tired" yet when I did this last time.

i think the best thing is to take your time for the fast
better do it in steps than going cold turkey
maybe you have to quit or lower you coffee intake ?:)
but we are going to get there :)
i wish you luck with your first day :)
btw i'm also soo tired on a fast
