Has anyone found it possible to build muscle with eating what seems to be less than you burned throughout the day?
I've heard of rare stories like Dr Jubb doing this, but it is more common and anything special to it?

Lately I just don't see how I can really eat that many calories without resorting to oils, nuts, or multiple avocados, which I'm trying to cut back on.
I feel best when I have a large amount of greens, green juice, and a lot of fruit (both sweet and non sweet), but these don't go over the amount of calories that would normally be needed for muscle. Does a person really need to resort to oats and grains daily to build or is there someway around this?

It's going to be tough but it's possible to build muscle on a calorie deficit provided you get enough dietary protein.

How much protein do you need?

More than the RDA value because RDA is for sedentary person to maintain muslce. RDA value is .36 gram protein per lb of body weight daily. so 150 lb person would need 54 grams of protein daily. You need to log what you eat daily to see if you get enough protein and see how much calorie you're in the negative so that you can adjust accordingly and not fall too much in deficit.

I assume you are lifting weights as well. I would perform weight training twice per week minimum.
