View Full Version : going raw today/question about coffee
08-16-2005, 10:29 AM
So today is my first day, and I usually drink two cups of coffee in the morning. Has anyone here experienced withdrawal from caffeine, and, if so, how long did it last? Also, (and this may sound a bit dumb, but oh well) does going raw reduce the amount of withdrawal associated with giving up caffeine?
About to go enjoy some cantaloupe. :)

Yes, you'll probably get a really bad headache for a couple of days. This also happens with sugar withdrawals. Just work with it and drink plenty of water. Try rubbing lavendar oil on your temples if it gets unbearable.

Oh my gosh,, yes, I get horrible headaches from caffiene withdrawl, but when ever I am beginning raw I get horrible headaches and it is probably from just the withdrawl/detox of everything at once.
It is helpful to know that probably only one day will you suffer with the headache, but then you will feel great.
I don't think that going raw will help with the caffiene withdrawl, no matter what, you are going to go through detox at least some.

I knew it would be most likely inevitable, but here goes nothing, eh? :)
I'm going to keep a positive attitude about it, anyhoo. :p

Hello and welcome to the forum Penelope.
I gave up coffee when I started raw also. I detoxed from that for 2 -3 days, though not too badly. I increased my water intake a GREAT deal.
Here is a thread on the forum which may help you out in this area.
You can do it! You will feel amazing after, and it doesnt take long. I cant tell you how wonderful it is to wake up and truly be awake, like when you were a child. HUGE difference.
Best wishes and congratulations on choosing health for yourself.
