I'm hoping to make a dessert using pears as I have a large bushel of them. Does anyone have a pear pie or pear crumble recipe to share before my beautiful pears get all bruised up?

Thanks!

mmmm... pears

A really simple dessert using pears is to halve them, coat them in a sweet sauce (blended dates, or agave nectar) sprinkle them with cinnamon powder and place them in the dehydrator till warmed through.

This gives them a 'poached' texture and is utterly lovely. You can pour a simple nut cream over the pears when they come out (cashew is great, nuts, water, sweetener, blend till creamy) and sprinkle other spices like clove and nutmeg over them.

You cans also add them to banana ice cream (1 third pear to two thirds banana to keep the creaminess). And I sometimes blend up excess pears and freeze them in containers for sweet sauces and to add to cakes and creams as a sweetener.

You could also blend them with other fruits to make wonderful fruit leathers in the dehydrator, or just pear leather.

Sounds delicious, klomasius! I'm definitely going to try out that pear recipe. I love the simplicity too! :)

Pear pudding, blend with bit of water alone or with cinnamon or banana. If you want thicker, add dates, chia gel or avocado.

By all means make pear leather. Don't let those pears go bad!
