View Full Version : Banana ice scream w chocolate sauce.
My dad moved in w us and he's been baking so many pies, unnggh. today after lunch i made a batch of banana ice scream (just frozen bananas put through the omega juice with the blank plate) and chocolate sauce (maple syrup, cocoa powder and liquified coconut oil, you could use agave or honey or soaked dates w cocoa or carob powder). the kids were SO happy! dad too. he said he'd better not have any ice cream since he's working on keeping his weight down but he was thrilled w this low cal low fat version. said he couldn't tell the difference between it and real banana ice cream. gotta love that.
i'll be making myself some out of coconut meat, frozen strawberries and pineapple since i don't like banana myself.

LOL, I never even read your post, and I just made some for the kids and some guests today. Great minds think alike.
I added a little raw almond butter to my chocolate sauce though. and stuck it in a slightly warm oven for a few min. It was like "hot" fudge - only warm.
Cool that your dad liked it!

My kids ask for "raw rocky road" ice cream at least once a week for breakfast.=) I use frozen bananas, walnuts, honey, cocoa, vanilla, salt and a bit of water--then when it's thick and blended (vitamix)I pulse in some more walnuts or add them on top. It also freezes very well, then is very scoopable and even more icecreamy. Thanks for the reminder=)

How Exciting to have your Father with you, what an experience for your Children. It does take a Village and any other help available.
Since he loves Baking.....Why not leave your Recipies handy, a simple one, call him on a day when you will be late etc, ask him if he could start or make this RAW Pie for you because you SO WANTED it and are not going to have the time to make it.
He Might get Smittin' by the RAW ButterFly.
