Anyone tried these yet in salads or smoothies? I think I am going to try my hand at growing some. From what I hear they are quite hardy and easily grow up here in Edmonton.

Only the Berries, not the Leaves. Do try to Grow some, is it a Bush or a Tree? I would think a Bush or Ground Cover. Do keep Me informed, I like to try New things.

I'm picking up cuttings today to start a indoor house plant :) I'll let you know how it goes but it takes years to get berries. I read Asians use the leaves in soups and salads and they have a mild taste, similar to spinach. I need to do more research but when I read that I immediately thought of green smoothies!

A also have a few avocado plants growing and I know the leaves are used in Mexican cooking but I've been finding info online saying the dried leaf is okay but raw is toxic. I need to do more research into that before adding them to my smoothies.

I picked up my cuttings and just wanted to say that yes, it is a bush, at least the variety he has. The bush was about 5' tall and 6-7' wide and covered with the most beautiful purple flowers (and bees). He said he gets 4-5 pails of berries from it every year.

I'm sure it will take a while growing a cutting. Maybe you can order a plant or propragate a larger limb from the owners Bush if he lets you. Sounds like a Beautiful Plant, Lovely Flowers and a Bountiful Harvest.
