View Full Version : Chef Certification in Hawaii or Raw Community?

Aloha! My dream of moving to the Islands is finally actualizing. I leave for Hawaii August 4th. I am really wanting to pursue raw foods as a career and am wondering if there are any chef certification courses in Hawaii and what the raw food community is like on the different islands. I do not know what island I am moving to, for that depends on where I find work. Thus, I am curious about all the islands. I am a teacher with a masters degree but my heart is telling me to pursue raw foods for a while. Does anyone know of any oppertunities for jobs or simply making contacts with a raw community? I will be camping on all the islands at various times until I find work, so please if you have any suggestions, I would love to hear about them. Thank you!

That is so cool!!! I would try to get in touch with StarFire -- she would be a great resource and is such a pleasure anyways!! :)

I hope you're going to keep in touch with us and share as your journey progresses! If there is not a lot already, you can be the one to pave the path! People need this info! :)

What an exciting opportunity. I have visited Hawaii and would also love to live there. The next time we get to go we can look you up - - maybe find you in your newly opened raw food restuarant, changing the health of Hawaiians one meal at a time!!

Good for you girl!!! I've read about several people who promote raw communities in Hawaii..do a search for them. If you stay with it, let us know. I was there a few yrs ago...so pretty. Would love to go back & we can visit you!! Try to post with travel agencies, etc. This way, people traveling will find you. It's nice to travel & be able to go to a restaurant & have something besides a salad.
