There's a fanastic asian (not just chinese) buffet near me that has a great selection of raw foods. I go there a lot for the whole romaine leaf wraps (int. for summer rolls), fresh cilantro, fresh basil, cucumbers, mung bean sprouts as well as the other huge assortment of raw stuff they have owing to the "create your own stirfry" portion of the buffet. I'm in heaven in this place!

I haven't forced anything on my kids but they are starting to ask for certain raw foods like the ice creams & smoothies. I told my son (11) before we went in to the restaurant tonight to please put something colorful on his plate. He came back with brown fried stuff and a lot of fresh sliced apples. Then *************drum roll please********** he asked what was in my lettuce wrap (asian burrito in my mind=) and tried a bite and loved it and.................went back to get two of his own. I can't tell you how happy I was sitting across from him with that huge fistfull of greens in his hands=)

Lead and they will follow, perhaps=)

I can totally understand your joy, as a mum of an 8 yo boy I know too how fussy they can be, especially about greens!

Well done, obviously not shoving it down their gullets has paid off handsomely.

Now if only MY some would eat a handful of greens! But not to despair, I have him drinking large amounts of green smoothies. :)

GO YOU!!!

Yay!

It is great to see them take on more raw foods!

I am thrilled for you. :):):)

My grown daughter would never try something raw. Her and her husband have such negative comments every time they see something I eat that I doubt that my grandsons will ever try anything raw. Sunday afternoon we all went out to eat and my grandson did say he wanted water to drink (instead of his normal Dr. Pepper). He looked at me, grinned and said he wanted to be healthy! So he used water to wash down his cheeseburger and french fries.:(

You give me hope that my example may soon show more evidence of working.

Mamoo, even that little success was probably something that never would have occurred without your influence! GOOD ON YOU!

Just keep on going, you will have more positive effect I'm sure, if you ever have him over for a day, make the most delicious, colourful foods you can! Banana ice cream always goes down a treat. :D

Oh and I love banana ice cream. He's coming Saturday so we will have it with Strawberries and chopped raw pecans. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Another good idea. Thank you.

Oh goodie!

I hope he has so much fun with you!

I also find that RPs raw brownies work well with kids, and lots of chopped veg sticks and fruits on a platter so they can choose what they want.

What an opportunity, keep us posted. :D
