Hey everyone,

I just started raw 3 days ago, and so far I love it. I am 35 years old, and have been a vegetarian for most of my life. With the increase over the years of the availability of vegetarian food, I've noticed myself getting busy and lazy and eating more and more canned, packaged, frozen veggie meals. NOT good!

My sister recently started researching raw dieting, and on our vacation last week we made several raw meals that were delicious. I found myself feeling so good after, and so BAD later when we would eat some pasta or something cooked. So I bought a RAW (UN)cook book when I got home and here I am, 3 days in and happy as a clam.

I've just been eating whatever, mostly salads, green smoothies, and fruit. I made some Yam chips last night in the dehydrator...YUM! Do I need to be careful about making sure I eat certain foods or getting enough or too much of certain vitamins?

I've noticed a bit of a change in my skin, is that normal? I'm guessing toxins are leaving my system, but I also havent been eating all organic. I'll be heading to the farmers market tomorrow to get some local org veggies, but I was wondering if anyone else noticed changes when they first made the switch?

Any advice is appreciated, cant wait to hear from all of you experts!

Hi Finn and Welcome I to am new to this and you ask "I was wondering if anyone else noticed changes when they first made the switch?".Your whole system is going to go threw a change and depending on how toxic you are will determine how big those changes are. I switched from your typical American diet to 100% raw 3 weeks ago and my whole system changed. I suffered from IBS and was lucky if my body eliminated 3 times a month now it eliminates 3 times a day. My skin is now clear when before I always had a blemish. I don't feel tired all day I am energized and my mind is clear oh and let's not forget I use to have AWFUL PMS well this month I had NOTHING. So yes you are going to go threw changes and what ever they are they are going to be for the better I am sure :D

Thanks to everyone for the replies. My goal was to get through the week and see how I did, and I have to say...I'm sold!

My skin is amazing, I feel great, I eat all day long AND I've lost 5 lbs...I cant believe it.

I am finding that all I talk about now is eating raw, so I thought I would return to these forums to "get some of it out". haha I'm probably annoying all my friends and coworkers.

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

imo dark greens are a key staple . theyre providing :

A / CALCIUM / IRON / FIBER

then citrus for C

nuts / seeds for protein / fat , include sun seed or almond for E

the B's are tricky for me , i include aloto mushrooms . and also suppliment
with non raw NUTRITIONAL YEAST . and also experiment with soaked wheat seeds for its B

and BANANAS + AVACADOS are an always

and here in the berrie season gorging on
blueberrie/strawberrie/etc
cuz i know theres something good in them :D
