Well, let me start by saying that I have never liked smoothies. I have tried to like them, as they are supposed to be "good for you", so I would try many differrent tricks to make them palatable. ( tons of sweetener, honey, sweetened yogurt, ICE CREAM!) Still, they left a slimy feeling in my mouth, and didn't sit well in my stomach.

Nevertheless, I was determined to try green smoothies, based on what RawPriestess said in her post titled " Raw Food Revelation". I walked straight to the kitchen and found whatever I had on hand, ( apple, frozen banana, baby spinach) and made my first green smoothie. I couldn't believe the taste! It was delicious and I've had one every day since. It must have been the slimy dairy in the smoothies that I've always hated. I just kept adding more and more dairy to try and make the fruit palatable, and I had it backwards! Man, I've been missing out! Why don't they serve these at McDonalds????

And is it just my imagination, or do I have a ton of energy when I drink one of these? I've been drinking them for three days and my skin seems to be clearing up some. What's going on here? I'm only about 50% raw at best, so I don't know if benefits would even be discernable. I'm ordering a dehydrator today, so hopefully this will add to my array of foods to enjoy. Thanks for listening to me ramble.....good health to all of you!

Good for you. Alissa said on the Today Show, when giving the hosts a green smoothie, if you make just one change in your diet, this should be it.
Glad you are enjoying them! :)

Evette, you just reminded me of the saying "If you could just bottle the energy of small children..." I do believe you have found that energy. Enjoy!
