I love my standard green smoothies. I love marinated kale salads. I love wilted, warmed spinach with garlic and tomatoes. Though it's been awhile, I do love kale chips.

What other recipes for green goodies am I missing out on?

Savoury green curries, sweet greens (i.e. mint) in gelatos, ice creams and slices, greens as wraps (i.e. lettuce, kale etc.), herb greens (i.e. basil) in tomato dishes.....

I'm with you there! I'm from the hippie era when a healthy salad meant lettuce, tomato, cucumber, alfalfa sprouts, garbanzo beans, sunflower seeds, and avocado. My salads have changed a bit since then but an avocado needs to be a part of my salad or I won't enjoy it as much. I just bought another bag from Costco yesterday.:)

I love natural greens. Mother Nature is the true artist. Absolutely splendid.

I try to put some raw greens into all of our meals. I have 2 small children my husband is not totally convinced by raw food, although he will eat most of my creations. I compromise by making some cooked food which I combine with raw; the cooked food we tend to eat is: cooked (sometimes sprouted) pulses, cooked brown basmati rice, cooked rice pasta and small quantities of cooked vegetables. I tend to make a raw sauce to mix with pasta or rice (to make a risotto) with blended raw tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, avocado, brocolli, lots of green leaves, raw olives, kelp and nutritional yeast. I then mix it with the rice or pasta. We also eat greens in smoothies and salads and I love making a totally raw Chia Chocolate Pudding with bananas, avocado, chia seeds, pears, apricots, carob, cacao, coconut butter, goji berries and chlorella - my kids love it.

Did you know that organic avocados are often the same price or even lower in price than non-organic? I find them at Save-On, Price-Smart and my local market at great prices.

Just a thought...

You can make a spinach curry with walnuts, water and indian spices blended in the food processor to make a sauce, then add spinach and pulse just a few times to chop itroughly and serve.

I like to make sauerkraut with them instead of cabbage.

What does sauerkraut taste like?

I can't really compare it to anything. It helps with digestion, too.

did you know that avos are one of the lowest sprayed fruits out there? bugs don't like them, they pretty much get left alone! no need to buy organic in this case.
here's a chart of the highest and lowest...

i love wild greens in the spring, they are great in salads or wraps. for a totally different taste sensation look for lambs quarter, sorrel, purslane, dandelion greens, clover etc. make sure you get them from an unsprayed lawn! and wash well. there's a great book called wild edible plants of north america with full colour pics to guide you if you're interested in wild foraging.

To me, the greatest and best food forever is....straight green juice. Instant nutritional infusion into the body!!!!!

I am still (week four or five? lost count) downing green juice but the quarts per day. Cant get enough.

Smoothies too heavy and too much work for my body right now. I am going with it and giving what I need.
