View Full Version : Birth Control on a Raw diet?

Hi I'm Belladonna I've been a raw foodist for 10 months now and LOVE it, but the only dilemma I still have is a form of birth control that doesn't entirely violate the diet! Is homeopathic the way to go here (yes I know it's not guaranteed) ? Can anyone share their experiences with this? I'm afraid if I got on the Pill, after being on such a good diet, that my body couldn't handle it. But on the other hand maybe it would handle it better? I... really just don't know LOL. :D
???
hehe thanks...

I don't use the pill anymore and am so glad to be off of it. There's some cool new devices out that track your cycles for you and tell you when you can get pregnant. Check out http://www.raxmedical.com/ They have lots of different options for devices.

=D Thanks for the link. I'm extremely low-budget though so it's not ideal for me.
I'm wondering about different homeopathic approaches now but don't know where to start... typing it in a search just brings up a bunch of people's opinions not to try it, that "it can't work it isn't scientific!"...
Anyone here have experience with a homeopathic 'birth control'?? Or know the names of some I can research?
:)

Symptothermal method of natural family planning (NFP) Very low budget, 99+% effective when learned correctly. You don't have to be Catholic either.

What you are probably going to find is that being on the raw food diet cleanses you so well, that it probably flushes the benefits of the birth control pill. So it's probably redundant to continue taking them anyway. :) Good luck on finding a natural method I will be following you on this.

Yikes:eek:, I hope not. I planned on getting back on the pill after this baby and I definitely do not want to get pregnant again. This will be my third baby...and with my two step children that is five ages 10, 9, 8, 6, & newborn.
in my opinion one of the worst things a person can do is mess with their hormones, they regulate so many functions in the body. the pill, melatonin, etc, crazy. totally crazy. why follow a healthy diet/lifestyle if you're going to throw it all away by taking pills that disrupt your system on such a massive level? better to eat cheeseburgers and fries every day and not take hormonal birth control than to eat healthy and flood your body with those unnatural chemicals. yes, i seriously do think that they are that bad for you. i really do.
if one simply does not want to have any more babies a tube tie is the one failsafe method. yes, it is surgery but it is permanent and it works. of course, the better, less invasive option is for a man to have a vasectomy because it's not nearly as painful or invasive but... dudes can be wiggy about that.
condoms used properly are great.
a cervical cap used properly is an interesting option, miles better than a diaphram too.
a saliva tester like clear blue easy or the ovutrac (i have that one) tells you 4 days before you are about to ovulate (that is the first day of your fertility cycle). the mucus or tempurature tracking method (the two links already provided) only indicates the day of ovulation which can easily be 3 days too late unfortunately. claiming a high 90% effective rate is overly enthusiastic with those two products, it's more like 75%, not too great if you really don't want a baby. a saliva tracker always gives a clear reading of fertility no matter what. it is totally worth the money, we're talking about something major here, there is just no way to cheap out about this if you REALLY don't want to get pregnant. plus, it's way cheaper than a baby or an abortion.
here's a site about how they work

i'd highly recommend reading 'taking charge of your fertility'. it is full of some SUPER interesting information! it teaches the fertility awareness method (FAM), which like someone mentioned is a highly effective form of birth control based on tracking your cycles naturally.

BabyComp user here. Love it.
I also use Fertile-Focus which is another type of saliva monitor.
I agree with everything coco has said too. Never have I been on the pill and never will I!! That is some dangerous drugs.
I know plenty of men who have had the vasectomy and are so glad they did.
Plus it can be reversed if you both decide to have another baby. That's two thumbs way way up for me!

In June I finally got off the Depo shot - that I had been on for 13yrs....
I had a paragard non-hormonal IUD put in - supposed to be good for 10yrs - I'm just getting over bleeding since I had it put in...7 weeks ago, but I figure my body is regulating, because on the Depo shot I hadn't bled for over 4yrs -

My friend used this book, both when she was trying to get pregnant, AND trying NOT to get pregnant. She said it made her feel very empowered as well!
