View Full Version : Lyme disease

Hi folks. I am 54 years old, have been raw for 10 months (98%) and am battling Lyme disease. I am feeling quite a bit better than I did 10 months ago and have lost about 25 pounds but I still have lots of Lyme disease symptoms. Contrary to what is popularly known about this disease it is very, very difficult to get rid of unless caught early. I had it for 5 years before being properly diagnosed.
My diet has changed some throughout the 10 months but I tend to keep it pretty simple. I do mostly fruit, green smoothies, salads, a little raw chocolate and a small amount of nuts. I've recently added more fermented foods like raw pickles and raw kombucha.
Does anyone else here have Lyme or been able to overcome it on a raw food diet? Any tips would be appreciated.

Welcome Olive. Have you tried any of the supplements for this? I definitely would if I had it. Samento Cat's Claw is one well-known remedy for Lyme and there are a few others.

Hi, Thanks for your response. I did Cat's claw and other herbs for this (referred to as the Buhner protocol) for about a year with no improvement. I also did 7 months of Rife therapy and 16 months of the salt and vitamin C protocol. In addition, I've tried MMS, acupuncture and a few other therapies probably too weird to even mention! The thing that has helped the most is the raw food diet but I still am very symptomatic.

Sorry to hear that. Wish you luck in becoming well again, hopefully with raw. :)

Hi, Olive. I just turned 57 and have had Lyme disease for over 15 years. I had it for at least 3 years before it was diagnosed. I was always very active with hiking, biking, and working out and purshed to keep it up even after getting this lovely disease. Unfortunately, I got so desperate I gave in to my doctor's requests that I do the antibiotic therapy - which I did off an on, mostly on, for 14 years! I stopped the first day of summer this year and am going to green myself into total health again!
I had actually lived raw for 2 years back in the 80s and know this is the answer for me. I started back up again yesterday - easy to do out here in Las Vegas, where we moved last summer from West Virginia. Plus I've been vegetarian (not raw) since 1976, and love veggies.
I still get some numbness in my legs, and the fatigue really gets me sometimes. But I've got a spinning bike and faithfully get on it - thank you Coach Troy for actually making up to 3 hours on the spinning bike fun!
Sounds like you're doing great with what you're eating. Keep it up and don't ever give up the fight! So much of this fight is mental and emotional. I'm hoping that infernal little spirochete will give up when it has to survive in an alkaline body and is drowned out with chlorophyll!

I had Lyme for a number of years. Gave up on allopathy and did a lot of the things you mentioned. Gradually I lost all the symptoms, even before going raw 4 1/2 years ago. I don't think it was any one thing I did (was doing too many things at the same time to know for sure), but I attribute healing to yoga, herbs & mushrooms, good water, building up the immune system. Have not gotten sick since being raw. I get just enough of the flu or cold to develop antibodies. For example, I came down with some flu symptoms the same day a number of my college students came down with the Swine flu. They had severe symptoms, but I only had a mild headache for 2 days.
My theory about viruses and bacteria is that we all have them, but the body can manage them, as with cancer (see the book Cancer is Not a Disease or http://www.healthbooksummaries.com/Cancer_Is_Not_A_Disease_1.html ) if we just support it.
