Yesterday was my Sisters Birthday, and my family went to her house to celebrate.

Her husband and her were telling us they planned to start trying for a baby soon, and my sister said she was trying to get over an issue she has had for 2 years now. She wants to clear this up before she becomes pregnant.

A couple years ago, she got some bacterial infection in her woman area, that started out as a uti, and got much worse. It required a pretty strong treatment with antibiotics. Ever since that, she has had a yeast infection chronically for 2 years now. She has been to 5 different doctors about it, and finally found one last week who seems to know what the issue is.

Her new doctor has basically told her that the antibiotics she was on don't discriminate as to the bacteria they destroy, and that a lot of beneficial was lost and allowed the yeast to take over. She also told my sister that her bodies PH was off, and that is what's causing the natural balance not to be restored. She put her on a new medication (not sure what) that my sister says is helping very much.

My sister is willing to do anything at this point, I was talking to her about the PH thing as I know that raw diets can be very alkalizing on the body. She wanted me to find out if anyone thought that going raw would help her get her PH get back in order, and how long something like that would take to get back in order.

Her diet now is on the healthier side of a standard american diet, and she works out daily, and is in pretty decent shape.

Yes, of course it will help her. The more greens, the better. Back when we were trying, one book recommended alfalfa supplements for that very reason. Alkalizing improves the cervical mucus, which is essential for sperm survival/travel. For the same reason, all the NFP books recommend lots of vegetables, too, especially greens and yellow/orange (carrots!) for vitamin A. For some women, undiagnosed autoimmune factors are at work in preventing pregnancy. Eliminating common allergens, such as gluten grains, dairy, soy, eggs, can take a big stress off the immune system. A healthy raw diet both eliminates all of those and provides what we most need.

She could try juicing - a quart of green juice a day will help tremendously in alkalizing her system. Yes, eating mostly raw will help alkalize as well. Also she should consider taking a really good high quality probiotic to replenish the good bacteria and cut out all processed and/or concentrated sugars. What kind of medication is she taking....I ask because most medications are not likely to fix her bacterial imbalance, she nees probiotics and a healthy diet/lifestyle for that!

My words exactly Rayray......greens and probiotics..meds will only take away from her health while masking the symptoms so she thinks its helping.

Raw will rock a babies world...

What RayRay said. Medications throw the body OFF balance and compromise the liver. Live, whole, organic food (juiced is good) and probiotics...
