Hi,

I am on day 3 being 100% raw...on day 1 I had green smoothie in the morning and afternoon while the rest of the day I had water fast...

On day 2..I had green smoothie in the morning and afternoon and in the evening I had a nori rolls (recipe taken from Ani Phyo's website)..basically a cucumber, carrot, almond, lemon juice and salt and nori sheets..

Today I am on day 3..this morning I had a green smoothie and afternoon had only kiwi fruits and lots and lots of water..

I still don't have a bowel movement since the day 1 I started being 100% raw..

Any advice?

Thanks very much...:)

Your body is adjusting; just give it time. Things will work themselves out and you'll likely be as regular as clockwork soon. For me, I was all messed up for about the first month but now, 7 months later I can set my watch by mine.

If you are really, really uncomfortable you could try enemas but if it's not physically painful then I would just let things move naturally.

3 days is a while and I would think about ways to combat this.

Your body has likely dumped some gunk that your colon can't quite handle. That was a continuing problem for me my first 4 months, and I wished I has handled better rather than waiting. If it's sitting in the colon, it can get reabsorbed.

Eat loads of fruits, get some wheat grass juice if you can, or take whatever natural steps or remedies seem appropriate to you. But I would start addressing this sooner rather than later.

You are in massive cleansing and dumps all into colon. I would enema and support with probiotics and fermented foods to get things moving. Rough to let it sit there.

I would add you are not eating enough to push things through. You can't be eating 700 calories as a guess.

Drink lots of water. And eat some quality fats, like coconut or avocado.

I agree......If it was me I would go get a colonic (woods gravity method if you can find someone)
if you can't do colonics, then maybe just an enema (don't know much about these myself, i've only done colonics....)
Not only rough to let it sit, but potentially very bad for your health

I agree with this advice as well....just make sure they are easy to digest (like the avocado) and not dense fats such as nuts and seeds

flaxseed oil helps. also try massaging your stomach area to help stimulate it to release.
accupunture can help or matter of fact work.
and i can't remember the medical term name... i was told to say something out loud when i couldn't go for days... and was shocked it worked! and it worked within 5 mns. it's like an affirmination method. whatever term docs or holistics etc use for a bowel movement or something along the line with problems leading to the name fix... say it outloud and it triggers the system to go. sounds strange, but it works. if i find out again that name i'll share it. but until then i guess just try affirminations like mind over matter to go.
talk to your system. it might be stress related and energy is clogged up.

contessa20 : I don't feel any pain on my abdominal area but just a little uncomfortable..I did the enema yesterday but unfortunately what came out were very little..

T-Bird : I don't drink wheatgrass juice..but I do take barley green every night before my sleep..

artgirly4 : I am taking probiotic everyday..twice a day..

snoops : yeah..I guess you are right..maybe I didn't eat enough to push it through..I ate very little I guess...

rawstrenght : I drink water at least 1.5 to 2 litres a day..maybe it's not enough huh ??

*RayRay* : I think I ever read somewhere that it is not adviseable to eat avocado everyday..??? I do have avocado once or twice in a week..

pixie_333 : flaxseed oil?? maybe I should try huh..?

Oh, I also tried to take a tablespoon of olive oil one upon waking up and one before sleep..to promote the production of bile juice from the liver to help in bowel movement...but I just started last nite...

colonic (more effective than enemas)....and yes, you can eat an avocado every day....

I agree.

Soaked chia seeds might also help.

Dried figs are wonderful and you just eat 'em! Keep drinking water.

Melons! Take a whole honeydew/cantaloupe, place it in the blender, and gulp it down! This makes me go every morning. :)

it depends on how much fat you're eating in general, 1/2 a small avocado every day or a whole one every few days is fine. But you are not eating enough fruit calories at all to warrant large amounts of fats. Fats will slow down your digestion because they take longer to assimilate and break down. Try upping your smoothies, have them for 2 or 3 meals a day, and have fruits and salads for another meal or snacks. You don't have enough solid fibre in your diet to be having regular bowel movements yet.

i just find it challenging to believe it would have to do with just going raw.

even if i don't eat for a few days i still go everyday and sometimes a few times a day because it takes time for everything to pass through. they say meat is stored often for years in our intestines. cooked foods takes longer to pass through. and from what i understand eating 100% raw vegan it can take quite a while for our systems to heal to go normaly after a meal unless we ate something bad or allergic to or fiber loaded perhaps.

so i have to wonder if it's stress related or something else. and also you became constipated.
if it keeps up i'd look into some alternatives like holistic method perhaps. epsom salt works great for a laxative. i'm not suggesting it.. just mentioning it.

Anybody heard about Salt Water Flush (SWF)?

I tried it today and it works! I went to the bathroom twice within one hour after consuming the concoction and I felt good..I think I will do this cleanse for three days..it cleanses the entire colon..perhaps some of you have tried this before..:)

You could also try carrot tops juice.

When my dd is like this...she circles her tummy, I think it's clockwise. Do large circles starting at the top of tummy and down to bikini area. You're moving the intestines. Try each direction, one will feel worse..do the opposite. Sit on the commode with your feet on a stool so that knees are above the waist. You may have a lot of air in there too. If you can get some out, the others may come out. Try walking. I know this feels bad.
