We've been in NW Arkansas for a few months now.. and we don't really like it here. The grocery stores carry so few organic fruits and veggies - and so little variety, too! Not to mention that we haven't met anyone truly interested in veganism or raw foods since we got here. It's quite aggravating sometimes.

But we're long-time vegans who have been experimenting with raw foods for about 6 months now. I have to say.. I'm much better at making desserts than the main part of a meal. (I think that has a lot to do with the lack of avocados here!.. we would eat them at every meal.) But we're working on it and really want to learn from anyone with experience!

It would be great if you guys would post your favorite meals or links to websites/recipes. We're ready to do this.. but I just need some more meal ideas!

Thanks!

How close are you to Fayetteville? I have read that there is a bit of a raw community there. I have never been but I hear it described as liberal, hippy type. There are raw pot lucks there and a couple of raw book writers. I hope that is all true bc i may have to move there next year for school.

We did try a raw food group in Bentonville.. but it was mostly people who make things harder than they are (You know, they are afraid to throw fruits and veggies into the blender and see what comes out.) So we didn't learn a thing! Fayetteville is the college town so I assume there would be more maybe-vegans or raw foodies.. it's not close enough to make it worth the drive, though. We may move there later this year.. so we'll see!
