I never thought I say it, but I LIKE marinated mushrooms. My previous experience with plain raw button mushrooms was not a good one. Tasted like dirt. But I saw somew baby belles on sale so I bought them. Sliced them up and then marinated them with red bell peppers and onions in a marinade of olive oil, raw apple cidar vinegar, sea salt, raw agave and a little sesame oil. Better than OK, they were actually good. I'l be making these again.

My first thougth was :
Put it on a crust with some marinara and macadamia nut cheese!
Yeah!! I love marinated mushrooms! They really hit you with the texture and flavors, even if you just throw them on a salad...

Good for you for trying them again, when you didn't used to like them. My six y.o. dd seems to be coming around to 'shrooms, but not her twin bro.
On another note, not that Dr. Weil was always right, but I wonder why he said many years ago that mushrooms should never be eaten raw......
Anyone know what Hippocrates Inst. thinks about mushrooms? or Gabriel Cousens?
Just curious about what some of the "gurus" think. I'm pretty sure Robt Young would say no to 'shrooms.......Not that I think that any one "guru" is right about every single thing/ or that what's right for one, may be wrong for another....Again, I'm just curious....
I love' em too.

Marinated mushrooms with avocado cubes was one of the first raw recipes I made!
I make a marinade with garlic, sea salt, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and lemon juice (helps to 'cook' them), put it all in a container with the mushrooms, put the lid on , shake and leave for half an hour. Excellent!
