raw progress (with photos)

Today was my 36th birthday! I have received endless gifts from so many people here, so thank you!

I have never posted photos but I realized today that this is the best I have EVER felt in my life and that I can't believe my skin in these pictures and I know it is all due to raw. I am kind of shy and it is the internet so these may come down soon but here goes!

I am 36 today (black dress photos) and yes, i think this is the best i have looked since junior high school :D

The first picture is from last summer (raw) but I wanted to show progress. The rock climbing shot is to show possibilities.

i am going to try to find a real "before" picture to make it more fun to look at. The first pic i was already raw a good year and was feeling pretty glowy. A year before that, I was literally crying the moment i woke up in the morning and realized that I had to get up. (thyroid disease and parasites) there were days that I didn't get out of bed at all. I had to close my practice and was contemplating that I might actually be dying.

this year i have climbed 3 mountains, meditate 2 hours a day, sit on the board of directors for 2 non-profits, my business is in the busiest it has ever been, i am in love and well, yeah you get it.

!!!!that 3rd picture is a pretty cheeky :-0 but so was the new dress! it cracks me up to see the cocktail dress in the setting of the cabin i live in. i added it because i thought the skin warranted a raw glow shout out!!!!

i really do want to emphasize how much I KNOW WITH ALL OF MY HEART that eating a raw diet has made me feel that everyday, every year, i am opening and progressing to new heights of beauty in life

inside and out!!.....(the inside part is where it is at btw). I feel this fountain of joy and peace that can't be touched when i am raw.

believe me, i have played with this diet, researched it through my own body and in 3 years it always comes home to the same place.

what is 40 going to look like? I cant wait to find out!!

you all are awesome and this board has been a constant source of support.

WOW!!! :eek: Seriously right?!? you totallly do not look your age!!! I cannot get over your photos! I'd like to ask if you have a certain skin regimen that you do to keep your skin/face looking so great? and have you noticed changes since going raw or maybe you are one of those people who are just blessed with great skin... and what about your parents.. do they have good skin too?

sometimes I get skeptical when I see people who claim a certain product or diet made them look so young because for all I know maybe they also have really great genes to go along with their healthy regimen. I mean, I think some of it is our diet/skin care but I do also think some of it is the cards we are dealt with genetically speaking..

ok so the deal for me with my skin has always been this: in the 7th grade my best friend told me she had been advised to NEVER wash her face.

it stuck

at that time we got on the wagon to rinse with hot water to open and flush the pores and COLD water to close the pores. if you felt grimy use some witch hazel or other astringent type of thing. i did the cold water after showers pretty religiously in my teens

i also became a vegetarian at around 15 y.o.

i never had any acne.

i NEVER wash my face

in the last year i have noticed my skin aging more in regard to sagging and wrinkles and decided to try to make some preventive moves

i started using a product line called skinceuticals

if i break the law and use their soap i break out. but their serums are pretty nice and i have noticed some nice repair to sun damage etc.

i am not good with daily protocols but i use em at least 2x a week

it is weird i can't find a shocking before picture.

another benefit of raw......i love my life enough now to document it!!!!

oh and in regard to the genetic comment


my genes are a total mess. alcoholism, mental illness, heart disease, cancer.....

it has been literally decades of effort, herbs, meditation, exercise and compassionate love but I KNOW that all karmic influences can be resolved and we are free, capable, competent and worthy of a beautiful and radiant life.

YOU ARE NOT A VICTIM TO ANY OF IT.

but you do have to choose.
