Can i take fish oil caps while on the raw food diet? Omega 3 oil is supposed to be really good for the body and gives you good fats. Also can you eat raw fish? Its uncooked but its technically meat.

Well this is a raw vegan board, so no meat/fish etc. is promoted or even really discussed here.
You have some options for omega 3 however, flax is one...and I think dark leafy greens are also a good source.

There are plenty of raw vegan fat sources.
Avocados
nuts/seeds
flax seeds/flax oil
coconuts/coconut oil
If you can't find avocados in your usual store, shop around.

How bout some olives? You seem to be concerned about fats. I can't stand the thoughts of raw fish...makes me wanna vomik...hehe...I just love to say vomik....hehe...not vomit.
There are lots of non animal foods for fat...nuts, seeds, olives, avos...etc. Maybe go to another store. There has to be one that has avos or olives, and there is always online for nuts, seeds, olives ...etc.
Its up to you to decide about supplements....or get the real thing..

there are people that eat raw meat, but none of them are on this board.. lol
fats you can get from the sources everyone else mentioned. if you like coconuts, then eat those! :) very fatty and delicious. you can even get coconut oil and just eat it by the spoon full.. 4 T a day is good for ya. put it in your green smoothies, with some bananas, coconut meat and greens. yum!
flax oil is very versitile, too. any kind of oil.. sesame oil, coconut oil, flax oil, olive oil.. eat salad with oil and raw vinegar.
in regards to avocados.. walmart carries them.. target carries them.. if you can't get them at a health food store, you can go elsewhere and get them. while they would be BEST if organic, they don't HAVE to be. just don't get those "slim cados"... because they are GMO'd.

There we go why did i not think of olive oil duh lol. I have olive oil in the house all the time.
This is my 3rd time trying to go raw hopefully 3rd times a charm. I have really bad detox effects when trying 100% i feel really tired and sick. Its probably from all the toxins from the junk food. If i could break through that wall of detox i think i could do it.
Any suggestions to help with detox?

probably not recommended but if it's a headache, I Will take a tylenol. ...if I'm cold -blanket, tired -rest.
I find the detox not too bad at first...just a couple of days at the most. But that's just my experience.

How about your water intake? THAT helps tremendously flushing the gunk out. And rest when you need to.

I know detox can be hard on you, but try to hold out and work through it. The "healing crisis" normally only lasts a day or two and afterward you feel great.

I think you'd find Alissa's book very interesting.....there's a section that talks about the things people worry about getting enough of in there diet....like calcium, iron and it talks about all the good fats. It's just a REALLY great resourse.

you should try and find avocado somewhere...much better than olive oil IMO.
