I've started using coconut oil for my face and body, but I bought some Spectrum coconut oil and it doesn't have any coconut smell :mad: Is it okay to use. (it was cheap)

It comes in two kinds refined and unrefined. Make sure you got the unrefined. That's the one I get and it smells coconutty!

The one I got says "refined" so I guess that took out the good smell.

The unrefined is the least tampered. It should be organic, virgin, cold pressed.

Yes, I had a jar of hers and loved it, but I ran out and just grabbed some at the store the other day. I need to order some more of her good stuff.;)

THIS is wonderful! Have you tried this? I can and have eaten it straight out of the jar! It's sweet and so YUM-OH!

Back some years ago, I was using the regular el-cheapo Spectrum coconut oil to make my shea butter-coconut oil combo, and thought it was OK. Then I went to a natural living expo, and got to sample on my skin some extra-virgin coconut oil(at that time it was the Garden of Life brand - since then many others have come out). WHAT a difference, like night and day as far as texture, effectiveness on skin, as well as the aroma - love it! Haven't worked up the courage to eat any yet other than maybe 1 little teaspoonful in a green smoothie maybe once a month though. When I moved here to SF almost 3 years ago, I got to my old co-op and was able to get the Nutiva brand in bulk - fabulous!
