would grinding raw oats a bit then soaking them speed up the soaking time, and would that work taste wise?

I've used ground up whole oat groats w/o soaking them. Not sure what that does to nutritional value and soaked would probably be better but it worked fine for the recipe.

I've sprouted Quinoa before and that worked with just 2-4 hours soaking time.
I like the taste of it raw and cooked but I guess that doesn't mean anything as everybody has different tastes.
I added the sprouts to a salad and they gave it a bit of a 'crunch' factor and made it more 'hearty'.

I once tried to sprout whole oats, and they didn't. Ever since then, I have just used buckwheat instead.
