well, ok, i'm not completely in the wilderness. It's more like a festival in the woods. I know they're gonna have food booths during the day, but doesn't look like there's much raw. There will be a fruit booth i think. But i want some other stuff. I won't have a fridge or anything and i'll be staying for four days. I dehydrated a little kale to take with me. I would love to have some more green things though. I think I will have a teeny tiny amount of cooler space, if my brother can spare some space in his cooler. Anyway, just wondering if there's food I haven't thought of that would be good to take on a camping trip where produce is scarce! :)

Could you purchase or borrow your own cooler, make some green smoothies and then freeze them solid? They'll thaw over a few day in the cooler. You could also keep fresh fruit, veggies and dip in the cooler. Maybe some trail mix, with dried fruit and nuts? Or else blended almonds and dates pressed into squares? Yummy! If there's a fruit bar, it will probably be REALLY expensive. OK for once or twice, but it might be too expensive to get all your meals there.
Whenever we go to music festivals as a family, we always pack a huge picnic that lasts us several days. While it's not all-raw (I'm the only raw one, and that's new this year), there's more than enough raw food to keep anyone happy! When we make a plate of healthy food and carry it to wherever we want to eat, people always stare at our plates and often ask us which booth we bought our lunch at. :p

definitely trail mix..
dried fruit and vegetables..
raw "chips" and dips (like hummus)
maybe you could bring some seeds to sprout.. you can rinse them off in tap water - not the best, but at least it's something.
pack some whole foods.. cucumber, zucchini, pears/apples, oranges, grapefruits.. any whole food that you can just eat.. maybe put them in a back pack with a little cushioning. cause apples and pears and stuff last a long time, as do oranges.. bananas would turn to mush too fast to be tasty after 4 days.. zucchini needs to be eaten within the first day or two, otherwise it can get mushy..
you can also dry some "soup"... and just add water & let it soak up for a little while before you eat it..
some kind of raw tabbouleh would be good.
radishes.. any kinda root vegetable- carrot, sweet potato... just bring a vegetable peeler. lol
outside of that, i dunno! unless you have knowledge of foraging for food! surely they'll have salad you can eat.. most places serve salad, because it's so cheap!
oh, and definitely some nuts. nuts would be awesome to bring. :)

Going camping myself today. Here is what I am packing for three days:
I have a cooler, but you can pick up a cheap styrofoam cooler anywhere these days for a few bucks.
For breakfast: Chia Goodness cereal from the health food store. The cereal is a mix of sprouted chia, buckwheat and hemp seeds, with added raisins, almonds and apples. Mix with cold or warm water to eat. Also my favorite herbal teas and stevia. Mornings are cold in the tent even in July.
For lunch: fresh fruit (apples and bananas), Lara bars. I'll be out-and-about during the day and won't be making a real lunch.
For Dinner: I'm taking a three pack of romaine lettuce, a pack of cherry tomatoes, a large cucumber, a red pepper, some bean sprouts, and a couple of avocados, Plus my favorite tahini/miso salad dressing.
For dessert: I'm bringing a personal watermelon. 1/3 of the melon every night. Plus plates, bowels, a knife and cutting board (don't forget these).
Have fun.

Fruits that won't squish in your bag, granola, flax crackers, etc. Also learn about some wild greens in your area so you still get enough of that sort of thing!

If you can't get enough fresh greens, chlorella is great. The powder you mix with water to create a soup or you can get the chewable tablets. I actually think it tastes good, but only if it's high quality raw organic. Other green powders too, though usually don't taste good on their own. If you have juice that could work.

Hi, I'm bringing up an old thread cause I'm planning a two-week camping trip next summer and I want to be really well prepared. Well, I'll be in the woods for a solid week. At the Rainbow Gathering!!!!!
Last time I tried to make a raw granola, but it kind of turned into a dried bread! It was pretty good and lasted a long time because I was careful to get it very dry.
You know what I'm thinking will be really key for calories and energy will be............ Dates! Isn't that a great idea! I'll be getting intense exercise and I don't want to be weak. I'll haul in as much fresh fruit as I can of course.
Someone mentioned spirulina tablets, that's a great idea too. I think with some careful planning it will work out great.
Oh, I bet I could pull off some simple sprouting too.

Hope you get to go someday Mama!
Yes on the chia!
Easy, peasy.
PLENTY of fruits will last for that long. Bananas, avocados, oranges, apples, all that good stuff for travel. You could bring a green powder to mix with water if you like. Dehydrated kale chips are SO yummy anyways, what a nice excuse to have them!
You could make fruit leathers out of thick green smoothies heavy on the banana!
You could make granola mixes, truffles.
OH, you will have so much fun! How cool that your plan is to stick to raw!
:woohoo:
