I hear people talk about raw energy, but I am really not feeling it. I feel like I'm always tired. Perhaps I'm missing something in my diet, or maybe this is detox. I have only succeeded in being 100% these past three days (lots of high raw for a few months before that). I'm usually tired, but especially tired these past three days that I've been 100%.
I'm eating lots of fruits (bananas, peaches, raspberries, tomatoes, avocados, cucumbers)
I'm eating lots of vegetables, mostly greens like kale and lettuce
I'm drinking lots and lots of water
I'm eating some nuts, but not a whole lot
I'm moderately active -- I ride my bike and walk everywhere everyday
any thoughts?
I feel almost like i did the few times I've had coffee -- coffee always made me kind of jittery and nervous, but in the end just very worn out and sleepy.

Leave out the tomatoes and, if you're eating strawberries, those too and see what happens. If you find you "can't" leave them out, may be an addiction. They use to knock me out.

If you're tired, take a nap=)
Our bodies heal and grow so much while we are sleeping--listen to your body=)

I'm in the same boat, no real energy yet. BUT just the other day I realized I used to medicate myself with caffeine all the time, so my energy was false. And I am not LESS energetic than before raw, about the same, so really I am more since I am not doing caffeine.......make sense? It took me a long time to mess myself up, so I figure it will take a long time to undo the damage.

When I first went raw, as my body adjusted and did its detox thing, I was tired for about a week or two or three, I know it was at least two. I might have a day where I wasn't as tired as others here and there, but for the most part, I was very tired. I would rest when I could, make sure I tried to get in a small walk, then sleep like a baby.
If your body is wanting you to get rest, listen to it. You've been raw for a short while, the energy doesn't come overnight. Be patient with yourself and your body. It will come with time and patience. :)

You are so right. I think my half asleep brain tends to worry too much and lose perspective. It's funny that it didn't occur to me that I might be tired because I need rest! :)
I'll be more patient. thanks!

I'v been through this sooo many time because I've gone off and on raw-- on day 1-3 you are really detoxing and will feel tired, headache, joint pains, rashes, pimples, diarrhea or constipation, as your body gets rid of toxins. day 4 & 5 you will get a little more energy.you will feel like you'v gone over to the other side by day 6. You will wake up and feel lots of engery. You will have so much engery that you may not be able to sleep. Thats when increase activity will help. Hang in there.

Your body needs you to rest so it cans do major repair inside. It is one of the symptom of detox.
Listen to your body and try to rest and nap if possible.

Day three is only a tiny step in your journey!
It's also often where the detox begins (though for me day 2 starts the emotional detox).
The energy people speak of is often after weeks on raw, for some even months.
If you are eating enough (calories), eating enough greens, and having a variety of foods, then you'll probably just need to wait it out.
The first month is often the hardest with detox for some people. We are so used to instant results (often in the form of medication which masks the symptoms rather than curing the ailment) and expect our healing on raw to be instant too.
Instant healing is pretty much a myth, we usually need to allow time for the body to adjust to the better situation and start healing itself.
Time + good food/hydration + adequate sleep + adequate exercise + good attitude = healing and happness. :D
Give it some time. :)

Sometimes it is Detox, we all detox in different ways. With me it was a signal that I needed to eat because I was not that hungry so after eating I felt better. I also have to agree with "Thick", it can just be as Simple as that...
