I soaked almonds for 24 hour by mistake. I did not change the soak water or have it in the fridge. Are they ruined now? Can I still use them to make a pie crust?
Thanks!

I think that the only time that you could not use something that you oversoak is if you plan to sprout them as they will go mouldy. I would use the almonds

They are fine I am sure. You can keep soaked almonds in water in the fridge to store them, as long as you change the soak water each day. So 24 hours is nothing! I wouldnt waste them. :)

they are fine,

the way you tell is you eat one, if it tastes good, they are good,

if it doesn't try another one, and if it is not so tasty, then toss into your compost pile

I have soaked almonds up to 3 days on the counter, (changing water and rinsing about 4 times a day) I have kep them in the fridge for over a week in water, and still they are good.

When you see some white frothy stuff of top of the water, rinse, rinse, rinse alot then smell, if still okay, then taste, if still okay, then use them

But they can last a long time

Cashews can disintigrate,

and sunflower seeds get truly nasty. (I don't even use them hardly at all anymore because of this)

The only reasons I would not use the almonds are:
A) If they were soaking in a really hot room and
B) They smelled off
C) If a bug flew into the soaking jar, LOL!
