I'm seriusly considering adoptiong a child under the age of one. Well, she might be about 12-15 months by the time she arrives home.

I was just wondering what do Raw parents feel their babies? I've never had to think about this because it has only been me my entire adult life.

I would at least want to raise my child Vegan, but am really at a loss as to how to raise a Vegan or Raw Vegan child.

Any good books I could start gathering information?

Thanks for your help, as always.

you just missed the raw mom summit, which is too bad cause there was loads of info in there i'm sure (i only listened to a few interviews so i don't know for certain)

green smoothies are a GREAT food for your babe as is fruit. really, you just feed them like you would a SAD babe/child except you only gift them raw foods.

there are supplements people add... i'm not sure exactly what but i know spirulina, chlorella (http://www.alissacohen.com/shop/Chlorella-Tablets-250mg-tablets-1000-tabs-p-62.html), kelp powder and chia seed (http://www.therawfoodworld.com/affiliate_show_banner.php?ref=199&affiliate_pbanner_id=1002259)s are just a few.

My daughter is 12 months old and is 50%raw and 50%vegan. I started he our with ripe avocado and raw homemade applesauce when she was about 6 months. She was draining my poor boobs and I needed something to keep her satisfied. My doc recommended rice cereal but I went with avocado instead. After two weeks of that, I went to raw applesauce. With the apple sause I started to add things to it like banana's or apricots once I knew she was not allergic. At 7 and a half months, I started steaming and pureeing spinich, greenbeans, peas and sweet potatoes. I hope this helps. I will answer any questions you may have. I am not a doctor by all means and many peopel probably would not agree with what I did. But, my daughter started walking unassisted at 9 1/2 months old and she is now walking a bicycle by herself without training wheels (I am putting it on my blog). Is it the healthy foods or just her personality? IDK but I truly believe that little bodies need live foods and very low exposure to chemicals (lotions, shampoos, soaps, sun screen) to grow at their full potential.

My little one's first foods were...

avocado & banana

as he grew, we added...
green smoothies
green juice
any soft fruits mashed (nectarines, cantaloupe, etc.)
any veggies steamed & mashed

I let him use carrotts and yams to chew on when teething

There's a great book "Baby Greens" that you can find online if you google

I hope this helps,
Bri.
