I don't know about you guys, but I have been eating a ton of watermelon. And, chewing up the watermelon seeds as well. So I was curious about their nutritional value..if you are too--

This is INTERESTING!!! The article didn't mention if it's the black ones or white ones. I do eat the white ones, but it seems like the black ones would take away from the taste of the Watermelon Flesh. Are you just taking about the white ones?

Nope, I'm talking about the black ones. I just chew them up with the watermelon--it started out as a politeness issue..=)
Sometimes I make a watermelon only smoothie and vitamix up the seeds along with the flesh--theres no taste difference--and I'm happy to know that there is some amazing nutrition in the seeds--makes watermelon an even more perfect food, doesn't it?

this is so wild... thanks for posting this. fortunetly the watermelon i bought the other day has seeds and i'm eating some now and the black seeds taste like watermelon. and i'm blown away how much nutrician they have.
i thought they are posionious. or i just remember my mom saying not to eat the seeds. but on some occassions i eat the white seeds but never had the black ones.
and i think in one of david wolfes books it was mentioned the best way to eat watermelon is with your hands... like dipping your hand into the watermelon and the seeds will break loose so better chance not to eat it.

I have yet to be able to find seeded watermelon this summer in Central Florida. Everything being offered is seedless and so far tasteless. Reading your post makes me want a traditional seeded watermelon even more. :-)

How much watermelons are you eating daily, or weekly, because those seeds are don't think is enough to even worry about nutritional value.
Best to buy watermelon oil instead. I hear that people can buy it but I haven't seen it at Whole Foods though.
I love watermelon and canteloupe seeds both. Yum yum!
