Sorry for all the questions, but I just want to ease my mind about this last thing.
Eating nuts, some seeds, and avocado, in one day, wouldn't that be too much fat? even if it's good? Or am I just being paranoid?

Have you read Alissa's book? The focus is to eat eat eat eat eat... anything raw you desire. Just eat.
Don't go overboard and eat 5 cups of nuts in one sitting but just eat. Relax about this... if it's raw (and vegan) then eat it.

I too would like to know about this. I know that the above foods contain healthy monounsaturated fats so it shouldn't be too bad, am I correct? Also what are the best nuts and seeds one can eat to feel full and be good for you? Thanks.

I haven't read her book yet no, like I said I'm new. Call this newby/ex anorexic paranoia. I plan to get some works, along with hers about raw veganism, any reccomendations?

I would spend a lot of time researching then... that's what I did when I first discovered raw. I read for hours a day... everything I could find on the internet, did searches - read the archives of this forum cause there's a wealth of information in them.
But if you relax and allow yourself to release control over your eating... it will assist you greatly IMO.
and yes,... read Alissa's book. That's what this forum is here for... people to discuss raw according to her book.

I'm already learning things from my body. I'm less hungry and I know exactly when to stop when I start eating, I haven't had that in over a year since my eating disorder started. The first few days are hard though.

Yes but not blindly just to be able to stick the raw label on myself
the whole point is to become healthier isn't it

RAW is about Optimum Health for me. It seemed a natural transition from Vegetarian to Organic to RAW. I am a recovering a Anorexic/Bulemic with over 14 years abstinence. If your not careful you can get too obsessive with raw like I have. Educate yourself from all different views to find what fits you. For me a Low-Fat Raw Vegan diet seems to be my best avenue. Everytime I've veared off it I got the same results; tired, bloated, fat feeling. When I eat primarily fruits and veggies............I get energy galore! :) Experiment with your body and have fun with it.

again... you need to read Alissa's book. If you simply allow yourself to eat... eat eat eat eat eat anything you desire raw for 30 days... no cooked/processed/pasteurized anything... you will improve your health. as you continue on your journey into raw, your body will lead you. it'll let you know if you are eating too much *this* or too little *that*.
Alissa's plan works.
You mentioned in your email to me that you can't afford a raw food coach... Alissa's book can be your raw food coach! It's soooo worth it. Honestly, you really do need to get a copy and read it.
Trust us... it's what brought us here... together... on this path to raw and it really does work.

I do plan to get it, I just wanted something to go on immedietly is all. I think I'm starting to chill out, I was a bit odd because of the detox or the getting used to process. I read that it was normal to have a headache at first, which I did the day before yesturday.

Aleesha,
With all due respect it would be mindful to be careful about saying "eat, eat, eat, eat" to a person with an eating disorder. That can be a trigger and set someone off on a bender. I would say however, "eat raw and practice listening to your body to know what it is telling you it needs."
Peace

Yes, but you WILL be healthy as long as you eat raw. That doesn't mean to sit down and eat piles of food, but just eat when you're hungry and eat until you're satisfied, not stuffed. If you do that, you will be healthy. If you're still hungry, keep eating. It's okay to eat.

Exactly, well put. I wouldn't want to get in the raw vegan binge and purge vagon now would I. However I'm experiencing the opposite, I'm barly hungry at all, is this normal? It's 11 22 and I had maybe a 5th of a mango and I don't want anything else....

I hear you... but with all due respect we aren't hear to support people with eating disorders... we are here to support people with raw. If someone has an eating disorder it's up to them to monitor it - not me.
Cherry,
I certainly wasn't meaning for you to binge. Hope you didn't take it as that.

With this diet, you can generally trust your intuition on how something's making you feel. you're over the very initial detox I think....
Fat combo's are the worst...water rich foods are the best.

Phew, detox over then. I think it's going to get easier and easier. Other than figuring out how to sprout things.

That is true. We are here for raw food and there are ED sites for support but, I think it's always good to be sensitive to others no matter what their issues may be. I've always admired you and your wealth of information. :)

To answer your original question...yes it may be officially too much fat, but the approach that Alissa recommends is to allow yourself to eat those things until you are used to eating all raw. Then, your body will even itself out, and you no longer will be consuming too much fat when you've learned to truly listen to your body.
If you struggle with an eating disorder, only you know whether transitioning slowly or going 100% overnight is the better approach for you. For example, if you go 100% overnight, will you be able to live with yourself for binging on things that are "raw" but possibly beyond what your body needs? Or if you don't go 100% right away, what cooked things can you replace right away--without going back on your rules?
The point is to be aware of your own patience and ability with this and not set a goal that is beyond your reach. Set a smaller one and then another once you've reached the first goal if that would work better for you. I know many people who hae struggled with eating and emotional issues, and none have healed overnight. What has helped is someone keeping that person accountable to what they eat and do (eg a good friend could remind a depressed person to go outside and spend time with other people; could constantly ask a friend with bulimia what she has eaten that day, etc...) and make it easier for the person with the disorder to stick to healthy habits until they become more natural than the destructive habits.
That is what the raw approach Alissa advises mimics...that process, but for diet/lifestyle. Eating raw all the time until it's a habit, and once it's a habit, learning to listen to your body for what specifically to eat! Hope this helps, and feel free to email if you would like to discuss further.
