I have a problem with the pesto stuffed mushrooms... it's VERY hard for all of them to actually make it to the dehydrator! :D
Oh goodness... I made these today and oooooh my, my, my they are sooo good! I was a bit nervous about making them because I was not sure if I would like the pesto part. Oh, have no fear I will definetelybe making these some more!
I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed getting my backside back in the saddle with raw eating. I have have managed to be at least 95% raw for the past 3-4 days!!! HOORAY!!

Great going Rawadventures! I love the pesto stuffed mushrooms too. I think RawPriestess lives on them! She raved about them so much I had just had to try them, despite my misgivings. They are rawsome. :D

for anyone who has candida .. stay away from raw mushrooms!!
since they are a fungus.. the " bad " bacteria in our guts feeds off them when they are raw!

Okay, you just broke my heart!!! I am 99.9% sure I have candida....and was told that I needed to do a candida cleanse. (I haven't done anything for it at this point except trying to do all raw).
I am going to go into my little corner and cry... I LOVE mushrooms!

if you spend more time on other raw boards, where " health " seems more like the issue rather then being 100% raw... you will find out raw mushrooms are bad for candida cause they feed the little buggers in your body!
my heart was broken to... i know :(
i do enjoy them steamed now tho... since apparently they dont cause any problems that way.

Pink, Surely this board is completely focused on health. I thought it was the #1 priority here. I don't eat tons of tomatoes because when I do, my face breaks out. But there are so many other delicious fruits and veggies, it doesn't affect my rawness, just my tomato-ness. HA! :D So if mushrooms are detrimental to those with candida (I personally have no idea), then those with candida could simply lay off the mushrooms and enjoy many other things instead, yes? :)

My body is healed of candida using Doug Graham's no/low fat approach rather than the "candida diet" that's been espoused for years in which sugars and fungi are avoided. I ate plenty of mushrooms during and after my long bout with candida.

Well that didnt come across very nicely. Of course we are focused on health here, what a puzzling comment. What is eating raw but health?

RawAdventures, there are a lot of theories and myths surrounding candida--and every subject for that matter. Everybody is different, and everybody has their own experience. You do not have to accept their experiences as the absolute truth for yourself. Your own experiences, your very own, are the only truth there can be for you.
So as you learn and read, as you take in others suggestions and experiences and try the things that call to you, listen to your body, your experiences and intuition.
It could be that mushrooms did not work for one person, but will for you, or vice versa. So dont cry in the corner...lol Explore yourself and see if your body says that is true or not before accepting it as truth with your mind.
Best wishes to you... :)

Thank you SweetGoddess for those comments - many times what people call candida is not candida or rather a yeast infection. I won't go in to my dissertation concerning the healing nature of mushrooms at this time, but ;) RawAdventurer - be all that you can be in raw and eat as your body directs you, eat as your body heals and eat with the joy you have expressed here.
As, when you started you were excited - keep it up, you made me want to try them, as I have not yet - but onward I go, we have a bunch of basil, a bunch of pine nuts and mushrooms - Thanks for the recommendation.
