Hi all

I was just wondering if anyone does heat their food to the maximum temperature allowable, or do you just basically eat cold/room temp foods? I do know not to heat my food above 45Celsius.

As i am now on the countdown to go 100% raw in 27 days, I was wondering how people in actual cold climates deal with that. Living in Queensland, Aust we don't get a very long or very cold winter (avg 23C/73F during the winter day).

Obviously summer is going to be a breeze, and I can't wait for that.

thanks in advance

Hi carlye,

I went 100% in January here in chicago - our winter. Queensland is down under? It wasn't a problem.

I now have a vitamix and dehydrator - so can heat things now - but I didn't then.

I would usually try to leave me food out for an hour or so before eating so it wouldn't be cold

thanks T-Bird

it's probably just the conditioning we've received. Salads in summer, soups in winter.

I heard the other day from a naturopath that ginger should only be eaten in winter, that makes sense as it is very warming, of course, I can think of a whole lot of Asian cuisines that may disagree.

thanx again

Except for icecream, greensmoothie and green salad, i never eat my food cold. I still drink herbal warm tea (can't drink it hot anymore it burns my mouth)

I either take my time to eat it so it warm up in my mouth (for whole food like a red pepper or whole fruit). For gourmet meal, i take the ingredient out of the fridge early enough so they warm up. The appliance, warm up the food also.

Your body is set at 37 C anyway and we should eat food warmer then that.

If you can handle spice, they warm up your body.
