the more you go back and forth from RAW to SAD the more quickly it will deteriorate your health acheived from raw. Seriously, having a little sugar, salt, preservatives, fat whatever gives me a migraine within 5 minutes of eating and i feel so crappy, it's like hungover, naseous and uncomfortable.
I think it's quite common to hit you that hard. You just have to decide to make better choices from now on, or get so tired of being sick and tired from eating raw food that you just don't want to do it again. Easy way, or learning the hard way, everyone is different.

oh man i've been there. it's not actually fat you see, just water retention from your body attempting to process the food you've eaten. if i was in your situation (and i have been :o ), i'd be drinking a ton of water, taking triphala to help keep my digestion regulated, and focusing on eating fruits and lighter items for the next couple of days until i felt back on track.
don't worry..your progress isn't ruined. a few days back on raw and you'll be right where you left off. don't punish yourself for it..we all slip up for different reasons at times. try to stay focused on how great you feel when you're raw, and leave the "well i already ate something 'bad' so i might as well keep going" attitude at the door :D
it really comes down to a mind game in these situations. you're groovy raw self vs. addiction to old habits. keep working at it..you're not any less wonderful and beautiful because you slid off raw for a few days. keep reminding yourself that..maybe while you sip a green smoothie

What a great post eatyourbroccoli!
Tenuho - I second the idea it is just water retention.
We are all where we're at, doing what we can do when we can do it.
Get back on the horse and leave this episode in the past....

Tenuho - I totally understand how you feel. I just posted a thread under the title "can't stop eating ice cream - please help!"
Do you think that it is actually possible to ruin months of work in only 3 days? Ask yourself that question honestly. Of course it is not possible to ruin months of work in 3 days, no matter what you ate in those 3 days. My first reaction from reading your post is that you may possibly have food issues like so many of us do!! and after binging, you are obssessing about it and actually thinking you look fat when you really don't. It's amazing what kind of tricks the mind will play on you when you are anxious and obssessive about something. I hope that did not come across sounding harsh in any way, I just know how such things feel from experiencing the same exact feelings!

you're not the only person who's done this. forgive yourself!!! Get back on what makes you feel good. If you have a hard time being 100%, allow yourself one day to have a salad plate of warm foods. If you allow yourself this, you'll want it less over time. If you have it, you won't feel guilty. I've learned recently that if I feel a craving, drink water..stay away from the fridge...drink water. It seems to lessen the urge which is usually being bored or upet.
