View Full Version : Body's Reations - LONG

I've been raw for 104 days now. I THOUGHT it was 100%, but after much thinking and reviewing, I havn't been 100%. I've had some foods that I didn't realize were not raw, I've tried though.

1) Suddenly my body is rejecting and making me feel so heavy and gross if I eat any recipes, even as simple as the tomato sauce + "spaghetti" or guacamole. The heavy foods I can't tolerate now are olives, oils, avocados, bananas, and cauliflower. I'm not sure why this is, maybe it's my body trying to get clearner or have a transitioned to raw enough that it doesn't need those things anymore?

2) Lately my body's been craving protein substances; beens, nuts, shrimp, salmon, ect...even though i've been vegan for a while now. (my previous "SAD" diet wasn't the average one; just steamed vegetables, whole grains, and some salmon and chicken) Anyway, is there a way to get protein other than raw nuts and seeds? I'm allergic to all nuts and seeds, so I try to load up on broccoli and spinach, but that gets to be too much food.

3) I've read about hybrid foods and food combining, could anyone give me some more information about that?

4) Along with #1 I guess. While I was in Australia I didn't have any fat for three weeks and my 'false body' went away and my muscles were toned and nice. Now that I've come back I've had fats (though feeling gross when I do...addicted?) and I've gained the 'false body' back fast. I can tell it's not real fat...just water weight. Does my body not want the fat then? I've been told that I have candida (sp?) and allergic to yeast also. I've read through these threads that limiting fat helps alot...i'm sorry, i forgot waht i was trying to ask.

Hi there,

I experienced a similar reaction, I got to the point where I didn't feel well after eating complicated, fatty recipes. This was after a year or so of being raw. I never had a problem with bananas though, they are a staple of my diet. Make sure you aren't eating them until they are fully ripe, with brown spots on them. Cauliflower is pretty hard to digest, that may be why it's not agreeing with you.

You really don't need to worry about getting enough protein, as long as you are consuming enough calories, you are getting enough protein. Fruits and greens and veggies have plenty of protein. If you really are concerned about it, you can up your greens intake, greens have lots of protein.

Give the high fruit/high greens/low fat approach a try and see how you feel. It makes me feel great!!! :-)

It's not that I'm worried about protein intake. I understand that fruits and veggies have pleanty...i just thought that my lack of nuts/seeds = less protein intake, so I need to up my fruits and veggies to reach the proper calories and protein amount. I hope that made sense...

Apricots and figs are also good sources of protein.

Maybe something in this post about protein written by Alissa will help.

Check out the protein levels in sea vegetables. It's very high. Arame and hijiki are great.

Also, quinoa sprouts and buckwheat sprouts are high protein.

Bananas are not supposed to be good if you have liver problems, I have also had issues with them. I if eat them, I get a real lethargic reaction in my body, with brain fog and panic symptoms too. I would muscle test a lot of these foods- I did it yesturday and I was very weak with bananas .

And yes, I have struggled with candida for a long time and the past month has been the first time without it. I don't eat avos, nuts, or bananas. I eat lots of fruits, greens and some sprouts. It has worked for me! good luck and God bless as you work through this!

Your body seems to be moving into another phase of healing itself. Just keep listening to it and eat according to what feels right (I'm not talking about the false cravings, of course). If truly ripe bananas don't sit right, don't eat them for now. That goes with all foods, of course. You might eliminate the veggies that are "hard" to eat without chopping up like cauliflower and broccoli.

To more specifically answer your question:

maybe it's my body trying to get clearner {/QUOTE]

Yes, most likely

[QUOTE]or have a transitioned to raw enough that it doesn't need those things anymore?Highly unlikely with the bananas and avocados. I've never heard of this happening since they're whole, healthy fruits. However, oils and olives are both treated to make them useful and/or palatable and, thus, aren't whole foods in their natural state. Maybe you're finished with those (or maybe they'll be only for special occasions). Cauliflower I've already mentioned.

Best of luck. How exciting that you've been eating raw & living foods for such a long time now. I applaud your commitment.

I've been feeling weird about the fats in my diet too. I was eating avocados like crazy before and now... things seem to have changed.

Could be a cleansing or resting time for your body. Perhaps your body is telling you to fast?
