I purchased some great frozen smoothie blends... Bananas and Strawberries, Mango and pineapple. In a blender with water. I have Acai powder here that I have been using. Is this considered "raw"?

What is the "raw" opinion on Acai?

Probably not, but you know what? If it helps your body and you are okay with not being 100% (hate those percentages! LOL) Raw, then have at it. It's your call.

There are no Raw food police, at least none that I know of...

Well freeze dried organic acai is raw because it has never been heated and is way better for you than heated/pasteurized acai.

Fresh Acai will always be the best but there is no way to get it here in the United States and the only area that has the climate for it here is South Florida but it would become an inasive plant there and destroy the ecosystem.

I learned about raw foods a few months ago and i used to make smoothies with the organic Sambazon from the store but it's not raw it's flash pasteurized.

I would suggest buying Navitas Naturals Acai Powder.http://www.navitasnaturals.com/products/acai.html

I don't want the raw food police to lock you away back2healthy.

I have been eating acai for a year now and i can't imagine life without it.Acai has caffeine? That's suprising.I get tired at work sometimes and the acai makes me feel like i have the energy to make it through the day.

Sambazon Acai is freeze dried organic... just checked my jar.

It has so many healthy benefits and if it's raw... thats a bonus now to me.

It gives me a "kick" too and my skin is great while on it.

I email the company and the owner actually emails me right back! He's great... I ask him tons of questions. I'll ask him if he thinks that his product is "raw" and let you know:)

I'm pretty sure that the powder is raw because they freeze dry fresh acai but none of their juices are.

I think your question is about the acai powder, but I'm quite sure those frozen smoothie blends are pasteurized, unless it's not what I think it is. Do you mean frozen fruit puree or is it whole fruit pieces? If it's pureed then it normally has to be pasteurized.
