Has anyone here ever used the T-Tapp workouts?
www.t-tapp.com (http://www.t-tapp.com)
I'm interested in them and have downloaded and tried some of her sample exercise, but I'm wondering how well they work for long term use. Any input?

Thanks,
Bretta

Hey Bretta!
I have used T-Tapp several different times. The exercises are low impact and extremely powerful. The 'inch loss' they talk about is quite real, but varies from person to person. I had enormous success my first time using the exercises, and each time thereafter have had good success, but not as much inch loss. I've gone through periods (as with most other exercise) where I am dedicated, then through times where I am not. I often come back to those tapes, and funny enough, not to any of the others that I have (and I have MANY!)
I love the system and think it is excellent. I do recommend it, highly.

Thank you sooooooo much for posting a question about this product. I have been trying to find a program to help with my back problems and all the doctor can say is excercise...Well if I knew how to do that without hurting myself I woudnt have gone to see her! lol

I have ordered the rehab program and the skin brushing program. Can't wait to see how this will help me.

If you are interested in reading more review info on T-Tapp you can go to the WeightWatchers boards and read posts there. MAny weightwatcher participants are big fans of T-Tapp.

I looked on the T-Trapp site. It looks pretty good. I am impressed with the founder....she really looks great! But I have to tell ya, I looked at her ab routine......I don't want to tell you what activity it reminded me of......lol I would do that one in the privacy of my home rather than a gym....but it overall idea looks good.

Peace.

tglasco, that's too funny. When I saw it, I really thought it sounded silly to put your insides in place, or whatever she says. But, I don't know, maybe it works! It just sounds odd.
And, yea, I don't think I'd be doing those at a gym :)

Thanks for your opinions everyone! Todd, having tried the ab routine I can vouch that it feels good and is tough, but yeah, I hid in the back room at my store to do it!! :)

I'm going to keep thinking on it...I have tons of FIRM videos I can do in the meantime, just looking for something "new".

Thanks!

I used the T-Tapp workout videos years ago-about 6 years ago. I got bored with it, to tell you the truth. But I do remember gaining strength in my legs. I mostly a free weight-jogging kind of girl. WHatever get's the oxygen flowing is the thing.

I do the t-tapp total workout and i love it. It's the only workout I've every truly felt "addicted" to. And the muscle density and tone I have now is really insane...my legs are very cut and I have about 30 lbs to lose still. I have lost inches with it and raw together- i've gone done two pant sizes. It's an awesome workout for getting in connection with mind/body and it really is so intense and amazing!

I got inspired by your posts and ordered the total body workout again. (I had it years ago and gave away the tapes). I never was doing it right, I can see now. Her newer recordings are MUCH better in terms of instruction than the older ones I had. And YOW! these are challenging when you do them right! No wonder I got bored before-I wasn't close to doing them right. THey do require intense concentration. I am doing her "bootcamp" version, where you do the workout several days in a row, depending on how many clothes sizes you want to lose. I want to lose 3 sizes, so that means doing the workout 10 days in a row, then every other day for 4-5 weeks, then 2X a week for maintenence is all you need, she says. It's worth a try!! the testamonials are pretty impressive.

hey! I just did the TTapp total body workout all the way through (was only doing basic plus for a few weeks). YOW! that WORKS! I was sweating like crazy! good stuff. I am planning on doing it 2X a week, alternating with Kathy smith's lift weights to lose weights, part 2 (which is a really modern, holistic approach to weight training) and yoga.

I just joined this site tonight as I have been eating more and more of my food in a raw and natural state and wanted to explore this way of eating further.

I've been poking around the forums and when I came upon this post had to reply.

I'm a T-Tapp trainer and would be happy to answer any questions you all may have as you investigate T-Tapp. I have no desire to sell you on the method (it's powerful enough to sell itself) or try to sell you anything for that matter. Just to answer any questions you may have.

Lannette (who is also looking forward to asking you a few questions about eating raw as they pop up)

That's terific.
I bought the entire course and attempted to follow the first tape on a number of occasions but failed after about 15 mins.
I am going to try again in the knowledge that I have my own personal trainer (that and the fact that I am waiting until hubby has the time to watch and see what I am doing wrong) so I have no doubt that I will be availing of your offer.

may work fine but I was always told that you can't spot reduce. Looks good otherwise, what ever keeps one moving really is a plus in our society any more. Computers, tv's in every room practically, video games for the young'ns/some older kids (husbands). Need to keep moving!

Sport,

It's a great idea to have your husband check on your form. When you're ready to give it another try feel free to email me at lannette@t-tapp.com and I'll be happy to give you some pointers on key form areas he should check. :)

Autumnbreez, You're right, when you're dealing with traditional exercise it's commonly held that you can't spot reduce. T-Tapp isn't typical though and without sounding too much like a commercial I can only say that people who do the workout do tend to lose inches even before they've dropped much weight. I was the worlds biggest skeptic before I experienced it myself.

hi lannette, i know you from the t-tapp site. it's nice to have you with us.

i'm just starting to use my t-tapp tapes again. i ordered the weighted workout tapes but never used them but yesterday i put on my MetaTreks and decided to finally try it and it was a great workout.

the t-tapp routine seems deceptively simple but it delivers results. teresa has an impressive understanding of human anatomy and exercise physiology. i think her program is a wonderful complement to a raw food diet.

Hi Suzy,

Thank you for the nice welcome. I'm glad that you enjoyed the WSWO! I totally agree with you that the T-Tapp workout is a complement to a raw eating lifestyle. It's funny that you should have just written that because I was thinking about that at lunch time yesterday. They both balance the body and put it in a better place to help itself.

I know you too, Lannette!! I am so glad to see you hear.

To those of you thinking about T-Tapp, I highly recommend it. I have been doing it since 2001 and LOVE it. Right now I am pregnant with my fourth child who is due in two days and it would take me a long time to tell you what a difference T-Tapp has made during this and my last pregnancy.

I just wanted to say a welcome to Lannette as well!

I have perused the T-tapp site, and am thinking about it as a new years or spring purchase.....

But, I know you from the site, and am thrilled to see you here as well. I think that from what I know of both raw and t-tapp, they are very well suited for one another.....

bye for now!

Hi Tracy and Laura!

What a small place the WWW can be! :) Thanks for taking the time to say hello!

My offer to give email support stands.

Tracy, best of luck with that new baby though it sounds as though you may not read this until after he or she arrives. ;)

Jan: Please feel free to email me should you have questions once you get your program. (I would tell you to post here but don't want to take up extra bandwidth.)

Thanks again to everyone for the warm welcome and for the great support with everything raw :D

I'm finished with my workout (fueled by two bananas :) ) and now it's into the kitchen to turn my soaking and sprouting foods into some yummy treats for the first part of this coming week.

Hi all!

Lannette! How great to see your posts on this board!! I DO have a question regarding TTapp-

do you think that just doing the 15 minute basic workout is enough if combined with other types of regular exercise? My intention is to do my own free weight routine 4 days a week with step aerobics and yoga 2 days a week, but do the 15 min basic workout 4 times before the cardio and free weights.

I would love to hear what you think about that....

blessings!!!

Hi Theresaann

When I get really busy or when I want to enjoy other types of activity I will do the Basic Workout Plus daily and then add in my other activities (trail running, walking, hiking, cc skiing, doing yoga etc) as time and desire allow. I've never had a problem keeping my strength and endurance high with this plan.

But eventually I always end up coming back and doing at least one full T-Tapp workout a week. The reason I do this is because I miss the balance training. The second half of the full T-Tapp workout (the moves from instructional tape 2) are magic when it comes to gaining walking or running speed and increased endurance.

So I guess I'm saying you could easily be fine doing BWO+ as you plan to do but if you really want to gain the full benefit you're going to want to add in balance at least occasionally.

One way to do this would be to go 6-8 weeks with your proposed plan and then do a one to two week T-Tapp bootcamp featuring the total workout.

Then go back to your proposed workout schedule for another 6-8 weeks.

Alternately you could do your proposed schedule but on some days add in the balance sequence and Thread the needle.

I'd also suggest being aware of your alignment while doing your alternate workout activities and try to integrate T-Tapp form concepts to give you more bang for your exercise buck.

Hope that answers your question without being too confusing.

thank you so much, Lannette! actually, I went back the website and re-read people's testamonials and got re-inspired about ttapp. I think what i am going to do for the next 8 weeks is this:

2 days a week BWO+ before the ttapp cardio WO, then full body free weights after the cardio-just one set of heavy weights for some all over toning

2 days a week also do TBWO

2 days a week do BWO+ before yoga

I think that will be a great overall balanced workout. THen after 8 weeks I'll assess where I'm at. I'm excited to really stick with it and see what happens! I tell my clients about ttapp all the time (I am a massage and craniosacral therapist) so maybe I should be committed to it myself if I"m gonna encourage others to do it (ya think??)!

thanks again and many blessings!!! Theresa Miller :)

Yes, your proposed rotation does sound balanced. You'll want to make sure you're not overworking yourself. There's a good article on overtraining here: http://www.acefitness.org/fitfacts/fitfacts_display.aspx?itemid=353 It helps if you have a kind of rescue plan in mind should the signs and symptoms of overtraining rear their ugly head. It could be as simple as taking an extra day of rest or better yet doing only BWO+ or Primary back stretch to actively recover.

I replied to a post over at the T-Tapp forums last night and my tag line in that answer is also true for mixing T-Tapp with other forms of exercise.

Remember that more is sometimes less. Fast is not always better than slower. And most importantly you will never go wrong by using T-Tapp principles to work smarter rather than harder or longer.

Funny you should mention being a massage therapist. This fall I returned to school to study massage therapy! :D I may be asking YOU some questions!!!
