A friend of mine is a juice plus rep and driving me insane for over a year now. I can't even say anyone in my family has a sniffle... she then gives a sermon on the research studies and benefits of JP.
A raw diet should keep her away now, but I don't think so. Any ammo out there to get this "friend" off my back about JP?

It's not a "scam".
Just tell her you're not interested. End of story. When she gets the message, she'll stop.

Is this similar to Monavie juice and marketing? My sis is a doc and she'll recommend Monavie to everyone but writes off the raw diet, because she thinks she can still eat crap and get all her vitamins in a two ounce shot every day... fragmented thinking I know. I guess it's hard to say if it's a scam, it's cooked, it's symptomatic treatment, and multilevel marketing... Not good but that's probably not enough to deter your friend.
I'd ask her how she'd feel if you started every conversation with have you eaten enough fruit and vegetables today? I had this this this and this and you should too... I'm sure she'd agree that would be offputting.

Unfortunately, if she's a rep, she has her sales to maintain...or she makes no money. I've met people like this before...sometimes you actually have to tell them that their talk of 'X' product and their constant, not-so-subtle sales pitching is hurting your friendship. Keep in mind, they probably have their own directors or reps (whomever signed them on in the first place) encouraging them to approach friends and family first (that's usually what they do). She may not realise how it's coming across.

Like I said... it's been one year and she still sends me articles, cd's, etc... it's funny, but on their packaging label, there are no values listed for each viatmin, mineral etc... nothing.
I do take a supplement called Real Food by Country Life. Brown glass bottle as opposed to plastic JP bottle. Labels printed with soy inks on biodegradeable paper and the plant uses wind power for energy. Fruits and veggies are dehydrated and put into pill form. All of this info and my freind is still pushing her product on me. The creators of JP are actually a pyramid company, not a health food company.
Then, after a huge sermon... she serves herself a big bowl of pasta... but with veggies to make it "ok". Go figure.

remember... to judge is to be judged. ;)
one of my favourite things to remember at this time in my life.
i prefer clarity... i would just say, "i'm not interested... so no talking about it please" period.

She has to pay for these things. Suggest she save her money and send the stuff to someone who "may" be more interested in them because it's all going directly into the trash basket by the door.

All companies are pyramids. JP is a mlm or direct sales company.

Tell her that you are planning a Juice Plus party for all your friends. Just as she smiles tell her that it is a fire party to burn all the stuff that she has sent you. That should end it.

you could tell her that when she becomes 100% raw vegan, you will sign up for her juice... and for as long as she is a 100% raw vegan, you'll buy her juice. that'll either convert her or shut her up... also.. there's nothing wrong with your friend wanting to make money from selling a product.. selling juice is better than selling crack or something like that.. lol pyramid schemes are also illegal.. so if JP is a "pyramid scheme" they would not be in existence for very long. MLM is different than "pyramid"... the stuff she's sending you, you could also send back to her, and tell her to save her money, because you're not interested.
sorry to be defensive in regards to MLM.. but i know a lot of people (personally) that have gotten really wealthy by using a legitimate MLM business.. one of my good friends that i've known all of my life, whose parents have been friends with my parents since they were children, they did and continue to do a legitimate MLM & they now live in a 35,000 square foot mansion, they are worth millions, and more importantly, they continue to bring in millions & millions of dollars every year! so good for them! you can let your friend dream of all that, too, but you should be honest with her & don't continue to waste her time, and be sure to tell her not to waste yours by sending you stuff you are not interested in. if she's really your friend, she won't go anywhere and you can move past it. but i mean really, you can't blame her for trying to start her own little business and make a few bucks on the side, because this economy sucks & people need every penny they can scrounge up.. and at least she is TRYING to help you... or what she perceives as being helpful.. you should be flattered that she even thought of you enough to share an opportunity with you. it's all in how you look at things.

Thanks for all of the advice. It has just become more of a problem than a freind that is concerned or trying to get me and my family healthy.
Me and my kids have been meat free... me(25 yrs), my daughters(16 yrs). We eat so healthy... fruits and veggies out all of the time. Yet, she pushes this on us continually. Then, will eat a ton of processed foods.
I'm just waiting until I see her to tell her I'm vegan, full board this time. The sad thing is I'm sure she will try and push her product on me and my family again. She has turned so many people off... she's trying to bring it into the schools!

It is sad that people can become so passionate about consumable items as if they are a cure all for urban lifestyles and poor diet. I really don't know what it's like to be someone like that that has no faith in fruits and greens and believes it's just rabbit food and that humans know best when it comes to supplements and health foods. I actually don't trust any manufacturers or scientists to have what's best for humans in mind. I can't help but think it's profibility first and then low cost manufacturing and quality last.
Honestly who can afford to live on those bottled juices? You'd be spending what, $30-$40 a week, when you could just spend that on fruits and veggies if you're on SAD, more if you're raw.
Too many people who know that I'm raw, go on and on about how its too time consuming to eat healthy and almost impossible to do when they're busy and they feel great taking vitamins and doing "the best they can". I just think, when did life get in the way of living healthy so you can keep throwing yourself in the hamster wheel day in and day out...

She's not. "Friends" hear the word "no". She doesn't know healthy. She's figuring one can eat all the junk they want, long as they drink JP. She'll eventually find out she's wrong.
For me, if she sent me that stuff, I'd not even open it. I'd cross out my address and put "return to sender" on it, drop it in the mailbox ~ at her cost.

You said it perfectly... friends hear the word "no". I just sent her back the email she sent to me about the Dr. that has invented JP and all of his on and ons about non believers of Juice Plus.... it's like a cult. Ever see a video? I can't believe she pays her own money to travel to listen to this nut...
I told her to take me off the list. My family and I are not interested. Period. I haven't heard from her in 2 weeks. It's a sad feeling, but I'm so less stressed without her in the past 2 weeks.
Walks were like I was captive to hear her discertation of chemical proccesses in the body, blood cells, oxygen... curing my daughters asthma(which is environmental and cannot be helpsed sometimes due to her very small airway that she was born with!!!) My daughter would go to her house and she would pop in a CD! Give her gummie vitamins(85%) sugar!
I have argued with her that supplements are only neccessary if you don't get enough of the real food in your system. Then, she will quiz me if I had Kale, Beets, Papaya etc... then it turns into a contest until i tell her that you dont need 50 vegetables a day to get the vitamins you need.
For example... We go out to dinner with her and her husband a month ago. She and I order caesar salad with grilled chicken....mine with salmon(before I was RAW). I didn't eat all of mine because it was heavily drenched in dressing. She couldn't stop staring and couldn't help herself... she started in on me and how I don't get enough greens!!! Thats' the last time we went out with them.
Like I said before... I cannot wait to tell her I am Raw and see her reaction. I'll let you know. She's away for 2 weeks, so I'm itching to email her.... I should!!! send her a ton of info on raw like she did to me with the JP:)

You guys are right!
I've just had so much stress from her that it would be nice to have some sort of ammo to finally put her at rest. Actually bringing it up here is a bit stressful... bringing it all back. I'm doing so well on raw and heading into week two... I'm moving forward from here. No more Juice Plus thoughts for me:)

You guys have helped me with how to handle someone in my life who keeps pushing this stuff. She has been riding me and everyone in our family and her friends about JP for nine years. Yes I said it NINE years! You can't say you have a cold, you're stressed, you're not sleeping well, you had a bad day - whatever. Her solution to every little issue is "you know you should take Juice Plus it will help with".....fill in the blank...."they've done studies and the studies have shown".....whatever. I swear if you listen to her all you need to do is take this stuff and all of your illnesses, diseases, mental, physical and emotional problems will just disappear. BUT when I talk about raw food she freaks out. She is health care professional and has been for over 30 years. She eats a healthy diet but thinks she needs this stuff and she freaks out when I talk about raw food! She even keeps pushing me to join and sell the stuff. Not going to happen. Unbelievable!

I have used juice plus for over a year now, and at one time had my kids on it. I did not notice a difference whatsoever on it. I finally had to stop paying for it because it was so expensive and they sent you 4 months worth at a time. My kids even took the children's studies and did not realize a benefit as well. If you look up "juice plus scam" on google, you will find tons of websites that have conflicting studies on the product, and find that even their children's Juice Plus Gummies, a candy-like supplement for children, were shown to consist of 85% corn syrup and 10% beef gelatin, plus added nutrients. This is from Wikipedia.
There is nothing better than raw fruits and veggies. :)

My latest problem with Juice Plus is that I think they've taken to using deceptive means to get you to their presentations. There's a JP lady in my husband's networking group who had an "open house" with wine, appetizers, etc. My poor husband thought it really was an open house for the networking group. Nope, sales presentation, complete with video, testimonies, etc.
My stepdaughter just invited me to a "Wine and Wellness" event at her home. Cool. The two of love to talk about health and nutrition.
Then I got the invitation and I really think it's probably a JP presentation. JP isn't mentioned, but all of the key phrases are there. Sigh. I'm going to have to find out and politely decline if that's the case.

Yeah I got invited to an "exercise and fitness" presentation. It was all about Juice Plus. Needless to say I was really upset because I had to drive a long way to get there.
