Hi, I started eating raw food yesterday and I am having a great time. I have had some awful food/eating issues for the last 4 years specifically but probably longer. I need to lose weight (40 - 50lbs) but most importantly I need to get healthy and feel better, I feel like I was literally killing myself with bad food :(

Anyway, i am also going to try to log my food everyday on my blog. I even showed off a pic of the awesome Green Smoothie I made today - my first one ever, i was kinda scared!! ( is it ok to post link? http://blogmethin.wordpress.com/ )

I found so much good info on this forum to help me get started - so thank you everyone!! :)

Hi, Nanner. :) Your blog should help you stay on track! Your green smoothie looks like the one we usually make:

one banana (frozen or not), half large mango, half fistful of raw pineapple, juice of lime, fill blender to top with raw spinach, some water to desired consistency.

I seem to remember we tried other recipes and quickly settled on this -- the banana really adds something, so does the mango. We use different greens.

This forum is a great resource! Someone here gave me several links for homemade larabars and I made my own -- my family loved them! I think they were better than the commercial ones, and real simple. I just mixed and formed and chilled -- didn't dehydrate them.

Thanks!!

Soose, if you have those recipes I'd love to try! I was thinking that they couldn't be too hard to make while I was eating it!!

Welcome. Tip after reading your blog: make sure you're eating plenty. It's the best way to make raw work. Sounds like you're satisfied so far, which is good. :)
