View Full Version : They THREW AWAY his lunch!

My husband really is doing fine and wants to stay on his juice fast. But the instructions for the cleanse/detox kit say he should take some of this with a little food to push the detox stuff through. So as I was juicing apples for him, my juicer doesn't work real efficiently, the pulp is still wet. I saved the apple pulp, put some in a little container with some ground flax. Not much at all.

He put it in the fridge at work and someone threw it away, container and all! When he asked around, the fellow said, "I thought it was crap!"

Hello? Real Food to Earthman??!

Funny and sort of sad. I told my son, I think most people in our society don't know what real food looks like, much less tastes like!

Anyway, if anyone here has done a colon cleanse with juice only and will help me out...? (There is an activator mix, once/day with food, and then the detox mix of charcoal, clay, pectin, and such is taken 5x/day.)

That's terrible!

Where I used to work we were constantly having the problem of rotting food in the fridge. Eventually they made the rule that all food had to have a date on it. If it didn't, it could be thrown away.

Put a name AND a date.

It sounds like the cleanse he is doing is not supposed to be done while fasting.

From now on, everything going to the office gets labeled: REAL FOOD. :D

It sounds like the cleanse he is doing is not supposed to be done while fasting.

The instructions or faq's do say you can continue eating normally, but of course be mindful to eat healthy food. They don't say what to do for a juice fast, but I feel sure just juice would be okay. He's really doing okay - he has energy since adding in the juices. I think juice would work fine or maybe something more substantial like carrot juice or a green smoothie would be good.

It'll be interesting to see whether this colon cleanse or the chelation add anything to the healing we've already seen from just the fast. Not just weight loss, but I'm particularly glad to see the hand shaking go away!

My own experience was with a 9.5 day water fast. I think my son was on it 8.5 days? (And we did eat raw for awhile after that, just because we were on an elimination diet and the foods we added were raw.) I always wondered if both of us would have seen better healing and more detox more quickly if I'd done a cleanse after or during that fast. So some day I plan to find out. :)

I would have been irate if someone threw my stuff away. Your husband must be a nice person. I'd have made the person either pay for the food and the container in the trash, or give me the money to replace the items.. (yes, working with me can be difficult. that's why I am my own boss! lol)

Anywho.. Sorry that, that happened to him.

You know, the co-workers are super nice; the one who cleans out the fridge is doing a service; the container was old, the food looked bad to him -- he is allowed to make mistakes. :) We both think it's kind of funny, if an eye-opener. Thought ya'll would enjoy the craziness of it! I mean, no one could recognize it for food! :p

Still, I am VERY glad it wasn't something I'd spent a lot of time making in the dehydrator, or some very pricey ingredients! Whew. Or one of my nice containers. Next time, he'll label his food! Lesson learned. Pretty cheap this time! :D

Okay guys, Everything I wrote was exactly true -- but I was in a rush running out the door and ended up over-dramatizing it with such a title in all caps. Then, didn't make the emotional tone clear in my original post, such is the woes of posting on forums -- I apologize! (Don't see a smiley with a halo here. :D)

So sorry, Aleesha and all! We just were bemused at first, and then started thinking it was funny. I should have included a big old GRIN -- does this work?

Anyway, so I'm not wasting the post. Guess what? I asked my husband how he was feeling this morning with the fast and cleanse.

He said he feels better. I asked how. He said he notices his head is clearer, he's thinking technically better (he'd notice that in his job), but mainly he finds he is ... I'm having trouble explaining it... smoother emotionally, less reactive? I think he used the term "to and fro" meaning when something happens, he's less prone to having mixed emotions. I'll have to ask him more tonight. :) He's normally pretty calm, happy, sane, kind, courteous and helpful, on a pretty even keel, so not overly reactive anyway in my opinion, but he has noticed a difference.

He did notice a little return of the hand tremors this morning -- I hope it's a case of symptoms reappearing with detox and that it'll heal and go away again.

He'll finish this 5-7 day cleanse, but he thinks he'll start eating some veg or at least some moderate amounts of green juices or smoothies later this week.
