I am a 45 yo woman, who was recently diagnosed hypothyroid. I have been a vegetarian for about three years. I was high raw for 6-8 months of that time. I had gum surgery and got away from it but am coming back to it now. I am probably about 75% raw at this point and would like to get back to all but one meal per day raw. I don't know if it will benefit the hypothyroid issue, but I know it helps in general how I feel. I am about 40 pounds overweight and while weight loss would be great it is not the focus of this eating change.

I am married and have two children. I do dog fostering for a local rescue group and we have three Chihuahuas of our own as well as a house bunny and a cat.

i was diagnosed with hypothyroid around 10 years ago. So if you have any questions feel free to message me. My weight has gone up and down like crazy...and i damaged my metabolism with a lot of crash diets. But i have heard WONDERFUL things about how a raw food diet can benefit a thyroid disorder. I have even heard of people that no longer have to take any medication. thats amazing :)
