Hi,

I'm new here. I've been drinking a green smoothie almost every day for a month and a half now and I've been mostly raw for 1.5 weeks. My non raw foods I eat at night and it's what my husband makes for dinner usually. Last night I had a baked sweet potato and guacamole. I also eat 1 to 3 ounces of 70-80% chocolate every day.

At first when I started with a green smoothie I was feeling great. I was also having at least two bowel movements a day. Now I only have one in the morning and that's it. One day I didn't go at all! Shouldn't I be going like three times a day?

The past couple of days I've been extremely tired. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not eating enough or if it's something I'm missing in my diet or what? I don't feel like doing anything.

Before becoming mostly raw I ate pretty well. No artificial anything or trans fats. I also had been slowly cutting out refined carbs and now I only eat a little if my husband makes dinner and it contains pasta.

Does anyone have any insight to my two issues?

I appreciate any help you can offer!

-K

Could be lots of different things. Eating different levels of raw makes a huge difference, you previous diet as well.

If you are tired and having slow BM, your body is telling you it's overworked and unhappy. So you can start experimenting with what makes you feel better, or keep doing what you're doing.

Chocolate contains caffeine and can be taxing on your adrenal glands if your body is already overworked and contribute to overall fatigue.

Also any cooked grain, especially refined in the form of flour is very hard on your digestive tract. If I ever ate a piece of bread or bit of pasta I would definitely cease having good digestion and be way behind. Compared to raw fruits and veggies that are easilly assimilated, flour becomes glue like in your system.

I would recommend looking at your chocolate and pasta/bread intake first. I honestly don't know if I could ever not feel exhausted doing some raw and some cooked, it's just the way I am. The fatigue doesn't go away until i'm all raw, and on fruits, smoothies and greens.

Also you will notice huge changes the longer you are raw, i'd say you should go for 30 days raw before you will know if you can handle some raw and some cooked, or just all raw.

Hi,

I went 5 weeks 100% raw and lost 10 pounds and about an inch in my thighs. During this time, I was always fatigued and couldn't do it any longer, plus I was getting bored of the foods. I have some yummy recipes but couldn't eat them anymore. I assumed I would detox for a while but after 5 weeks I couldn't continue feeling this way, very drowsy and tired constantly. Plus, after the first 3 weeks, no more weight loss occurred. I know I should be happy with 10 pounds but I have 20 more to reach my goal and was hoping for a more drastic drop in weight. Any suggestions??? I'm thinking about going back to 100% raw foods for another month but am not sure if this is the right route for me. Any suggestions???? I was eating a lot of fruit/fruit smoothies in the morning and an uncooked meal for lunch and very large salad for dinner with a piece of fruit later if hungry. Oh, also I was hungry a lot. Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
