Hello! I was eating raw about 9 years ago when my kids were younger and I wasnt eating the same meals as they were, not going out as much, drinking as much wine etc... Now I am 42 with kids 16,14 and 10. I am crazed with keeping up with them, teenagers and curfews, driving here and there, being an ATM, keeping up with my son and his skateboard friends in and out of my house. I have recently had surgery, on many pain killers and have fallen out of shape a bit. I am in desperate need of a change for physical and emotional reasons. I have always been a health conscious person, havent eaten anything on 4 legs for 25 yrs and I am a naturally athletic person.

My body has been telling me to cleanse itself. I stumbled upon this site today as a result of the sea salt cleanse... which I am in the middle of, at this moment! After "cleansing" my insides, I'd like to start fresh.

I have a few questions... eating out... salads and sushi? Is fish allowed? Can you drink wine? If so, how much? A glass per day?

I'd appreciate any suggestions and help to get me started! I'm also considering buying a juicer... good idea?

Thanks:)

Welcome!! I wish you the best of rawesome health!!

As for this venue, it is a raw vegan board, so discussing non-vegan things is not something you'll want to do here. That said, you make of your raw life what you wish. Carol Alt, I believe does consume raw non-vegan items, so you may find your answer about sushi there.

As for wine, some do partake of the organic varieties.

On the juicer note, if you have any problems with blood sugar, bear in mind that juicing strips the fiber out of the fruit and the natural sugars are absorbed much more quickly.

Welcome. Restaurant sushi isn't raw regardless of whether it has fish in it. I believe wine counteracts the whole point of becoming healthy. But you have to decide for yourself.

You can make delicious raw sushi and many great non-alcoholic drinks. Once you experience raw energy and health, you may never go back to alcohol. :)

Hi, glad you're listening to your body. It's going to be great getting well again! Can't wait to read your reports. [Did you note they have a forum for Fasting here? I have been assuming that covers cleanses as well. Maybe not, oops, I've been talking about it there. -- newbie here, too.]

Hello all!

Thanks for your support as I start this journey... again!

I am killing myself doing research on juicers, recipies, whats good, whats not...

Anyone recommend a particular jiucer that doesnt break the bank? Made myself a blackberry smoothie today with flax oil.

Is soy milk allowed?

What is a thread that I can talk on that may include some non raw items such as fish and wine? I'm staring slowly on this as I think it will work best for me. It's funny though... I got a chopped salad, all raw last night with salmon on top. I didn't even eat it after I ate all of the veggies first! But I did have a glass of red wine... Kids were brutal yesterday:)

Maybe you could enable your email in your settings and ask people to email off the forum about "non-Vegan items"...
