View Full Version : Juicer or Blender?

My DH and I are on day 4 of a 7 day juice fast and I suddenly have a question about how we are doing it. We are doing a combination of blending and juicing, mostly blending though, and I'm just now wondering if a juice fast (feast) is supposed to be done with the juicer only.
My DH is finding the fast to be a fair challenge, but I'm finding it almost too easy. To me, this is far from a 'fast', it just seems that we've limited our food selection, and limited the manner in which we are consuming it, but still eating nonetheless. Then I realized....maybe we're supposed to be strictly using the juicer?

yes a juice fast/feast is only the juice... no pulp.
but you can do whatever kind of fast you desire... there are no fasting police!

If you blend you could always strain the juice with a nut milk bag to get out the extra pulp. I am going to be doing my juice fast with a blender. MMM juice:)

Thanks so much for the responses. Just as I thought. I think I will carry out the rest of the fast with the juicer only.
You know, I'm so tempted to add on an extra week to the fast, making it 2 weeks, but we are entertaining some people at our house on the weekend and that would be smack-dab in the middle of the 2 week period (which is why we're only doing a week). Would it be ridiculous to consider coming off it slightly for a day, then getting back into it? Or would that be too hard on the body?

not too hard at all. just be very very gentle with what you eat. although... honestly if you are still blending your foods then eating isn't all that much different so you'll be fine.
if you change it up to straight juice, you'll need to break you fast so why don't you stick with at least one blended meal a day until after your company leaves and then go to juice only?

I totally leave the Pulp out and do just the Juice. Its a LOT easier than Water.
