My husband has been on a water-only fast for cleansing; this is his 6th day. We've all been on fairly long water-only fasts in the past, under medical supervision. They can be very beneficial.

The problem I have come to see with a water-only fast is that the colon shuts down and it takes several days to restart in my experience. So the colon is not able to carry any toxins out of the body.

His next goal is to complete a colon cleanse and metal detox. Preferably while on a juice fast.

How would you transition from the water fast into a juice fast and colon cleanse? It can take several days for the colon to start back up once shut down.

We have here a "detox kit" from Jon Barron's site. (Colon activator herbs mix, absorption detox mix / clay and charcoal and such, and some metal chelation drops.) Would like to do that in combination with a juice fast.

I'm just not sure how to put all this together. Can anyone help?

What I would do... for myself is:

Transition to juices diluted 1/2 with water and slowly get myself up to full strength juices. Once I had a bowel movement (apple juice assists with this) then I'd start the colon cleanse :)

Thanks, Aleesha, I guess the confusion was that he wanted to start the cleanse today, but it'll just have to happen more slowly. :) Don't have a source of organic apples today -- do have carrots, and frozen applesauce (skin and all) off my trees from last year, suppose I could make some juice out of that somehow.

My husband has started his 5-day colon cleanse, juice fast, and heavy metal detox. Didn't take more than overnight for his digestive system to start back up -- much more quickly than from other water fasts. I guess it's because he was really cleanly raw for a good many weeks before starting the fast?

We had to make out a schedule for him to take the mixtures and tinctures. It can be quite confusing the first time, but I think we've got it now. :) I've always meant for all of us to do this, so we'll see how he does.

I do know that just eating all raw is another way to detox.

Another way to do a Colon Clense is to do a Colonic. I use to do these regularly as I would Fast. I made an investment of a Colomia Board. Check out Bernard Jensons Book, Colon Clense or Life and Death in the Colon, I can't remember the name although I have it but I do have the Author right. He has graphic pictures of what comes out of a supposingly Clean Colon.

It’s a nice article. Can anyone explain me with a Colon cleansing? Will it be fair to follow only water fast for cleansing or juice fast cleansing? I will be happy to know more information about these things. Can we continue the fasting one another?

As I know, the recommended time structure is between 2 and 10 days. After that, wants to add proper amount of low-fat meat and dairy products to ensure we have a healthy, balanced diet. Detox cleansing acts as a diet and allows losing fat.
