I feel as I'm craving fresh juice and nothing else. With my blood pressure and pulse being so high right now, I wonder if it would put to much stress on my body to do a juice fast this weekend. Anybody have any input?

Thanks!!
Lisa

Why is your blood pressure so high right now? Baring nothing real serious, I actually suggest such. I recently had the pleasure of completing a 30 day fast and my blood pressure was wonderful - as I am a medicated blood pressure person.

Grape and Celery is wonderful for lowering blood pressure, and so is walking just a little. I am being led to another fast, so I may be joining you on this walk, if you do go that route.

Your body has less stress, thus the reason it lowers doing the fast - make sure you drink enough though to avoid dehydration and continued raising of bp.

We were adjusting my armour thyroid meds and ended up getting me too high and I went Hyperthyroid. Its taking longer than they thought it would for me to come down.

My doctor said it was a stress on your body when you change the way you eat or take in, so I wasn't sure if I would over stress and cause it to go higher.

I went and stocked up on produce to juice. We don't have a lot of organic options here so I bought regular and will just wash it real good. I've read that I can soak it in a vinegar bath and it will help take the pesticides away.

Tomorrow I'm going to start the juice fast, for now I'm going to say over the weekend. It might just end up being longer.

Thanks for the tip on celery and grapes! :) Just in case this isn't just from my meds and truly turning hypertension.

It has me worried enough that I'm no longer worrying if I can stay 100% or not. I'm going for it!

Hi - I'm new here, and just starting to get info on doing a juice fast, for health reasons, including a need for weight loss. I also have hypertension, which skyrocketed a while ago (due to stress).

Found this pdf article about a study that involved a water fast for hypertention.

I did a water fast many years ago, but I know I'm just can't do one (at least right now), but a juice fast is something I feel my body wants right now. I feel the results will be the same. Also, walking is great - I'm doing quite a bit right now, despite a foot problem (I fell a few months ago), and it's def. helping my blood pressure.
