I am 32 yrs old, live in CA, and have a 10 year old girl. I work as a nurse. I am trying to eat 100% raw but I am struggling. I know that I will feel better, have more energy, and lose weight if I succeed. I seem to do well all day but after I get off work from my 12 hour shift I am so tired and I eat too much bad food. I want to lose weight so I don't have so many extra pounds to carry up Mt. Whitney in September!

on the upside there in cali youve acsess to alot of year round fresh produce ,
keep an abundance in home so that youve always a good selection of raw options
i use big like 3/4 gallon stainless steel soup type pots , they seem to keep greens best , that i fill like every 3 days with all my salad fixins (besides tomatos because they make the greens soggy - i add tomatos when i prepare each individual salad ) so that when i come home from work i dont have to prepare anything but rather just fork out a big salad
bananas / oranges / walnuts / almonds / raisins i always keep on hand too
youve just got to find all your favorite options to have stocked up
and most importantly stick to raw because you know your daughters gonna be like her mother , ecspecially all kids eat like their parents raise them

Welcome, Karli,
I'm a newbie here (this is a great board!) but thought I'd suggest a good snack while you're still at work, before you start out for home. Several friends have cut out the "hit the door and go crazy with the first food that appears" syndrome by making sure they sat down for a moment and ate the right type food at the end of their work shift.
