Since i am new to raw, I was wondering since I do not like goat cheese. Would it be ok to eat raw cows milk cheese. For some strange reason I have a craving for cheese and went to the health food store and got raw cheddar cheese made with cows milk. It tastes really good and it gets rid of my craving.
Thanks,Lee

I don't know about dairy cheese but I don't recommend it, a large amount of the posters here eat vegan incl. myself. I do know that you can make lovely raw cheese from soaked cashew nuts and sea salt

Just a bit of a head's up... this particular discussion forum is based around Alissa Cohen's book/DVD "Living on Live Food", which is a raw Vegan diet.
That means, no dairy products, even raw ones.
You may find other discussion boards that have people that are eating things like raw meat and dairy, but discussion of that isn't really allowed here.
On the subject of cheese:
Your craving may be due to the addictive qualities of cow's milk. People aren't really meant to eat the lactation products of other species (ever really think about that?), and we aren't equipped to deal with the hormones and other substances that a mother cow needs to give to her newborn baby calf.
Getting off dairy products is getting rid of an addiction -- some people find it more difficult than others. On the bright side, there are some very good recipes for raw, vegan cheese substitutes! They can be helpful.
If you decide to try giving up dairy, and want support for going really Raw, we would love to have you join us! :p
