Hey guys, relatively new to the raw diet, looking for examples of your daily diets from waking to sleep to get an idea of what works and what doesn't. I've been occasionally getting a little light-headed/weak, so although it could be detox, I feel like I'm missing something too? I do a power-packed green smoothie (superfoods included) for the morning afternoon, cashews almonds and maybe an avocado or random piece of fruit in the afternoon to get me to a large evening salad or other dish.

I appreciate your input.

For me it changes every single day.

I can say generally I tend to eat fruit for breakfast and snacks. I've been making some recipes lately (like zucchini tomato gratin, wraps, raw breads etc.) so I've been generally eating something like that with fresh veggies and an avocado based sauce and a raw pickle. In the evening it's usually more fruit if I'm hungry at all. Typically though, I eat most of my food by 4pm and then I'm not hungry until morning.

I haven't been eating many salads lately but that's liable to change at any given moment. Just eat when you're hungry and don't stop until you're satisfied (not stuffed, but satisfied).

breakfast and lunch are usually green smoothies - about a litre a day
2-4 pm meal is usually a veggie plate with carrots, cucumber, celery
evening meal 7-9 pm is usually a salad or guacamole or hummus

If I'm too busy to make one I just have some more of my veggie plate or some fruit.

snacks are fruit, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, apple chips and banana chips

I am not all raw yet, so once a week I generally have a veggie burger or some fish, a bowl of bran cereal with almond milk, some plain yogurt and some cheese. I don't consume any soy products.

I always have a green smoothie, a veggie plate, a fruit plate and hummus made up and ready to go in the fridge plus a pkg of halvah which has helped me tremendously from falling back into SAD. (I realize it is not RAW but I could pick something alot worse and I hope to find a raw recipe for it eventually)

My menu changes pretty regularily. Today, I ate most of my food in the morning and slowed down as the day went on. I normally eat dinner but the Kumbucha and chocolate decreased my appetite. I eat/drink what I crave and it usually changes on a daily basis. However, I have been known to fall in love with a salad dressing recipe and make it several days in a row.

Here's today's menu:

Breakfast: Large Smoothie (blend of 1/4 slice of chocolate cake, 1 scoop of vanilla icecream, 2 bananas, 1 peach, and 5 cups water). I drank this slowly all morning and finished by 11:30pm.

Midmorning Snack: 1 head of romaine lettuce, 1 cup of mache lettuce, alfredo sauce salad dressing, and 8 chili onion rings all mixed up into a salad. I like to drown my salads in dressing. Simple yet yummy. I ate at my desk, one bite at a time, while I was working so I started eating this at 10:30 and finished by 11:15am.

Lunch: Noon. 1 Kumbucha drink.

Midafternoon Snack: 2:30pm. 1 square of Gnosis Chocolate

Dinner: 7pm. 6 chili onion rings. 1 square of Gnosis Chocolate.

Breakfast today was a green smoothie (banana, orange, strawberries, blueberries, spinach, ground flaxseed, hempseed protein powder, maca).
Lunch will be raw corn chowder leftover from last night, baby carrots, sunflower pate, homemade flax crackers and an apple.
Dinner will be a large green salad with avocado and mixed bean sprouts, honey mustard dressing and quarter of a personal watermelon for dessert.
BTW, I've been going to Weight Watchers while transitioning to 100% raw and continue to lose weight while eating twice the amount of food I ate as a cooked vegan. So far, very happy with change.

Seedy, do you make your own honey mustard dressing? This is the only dressing i can manage to choke down my greens with. I was using a commercial brand (whole foods) but it had eggs in it. So i made my own, with vinegar, oilive oil, mustard, honey, garlic.......i think i have to add something sweeter to it, it's still very sour.

do you make your own?

Yes, I make my own honey mustard dressing. I use one TBS raw apple cider vinegar (or balsamic in a pinch), 2 TBS raw honey (I've tried tried agave, but like the honey better) and 1 tsp grainy mustard. That's it. I try to keep the fat out of my dressing if I'm going to have fat on my salad, but you could certainly add olive oil or blend the dressing with avocado if you like that sort of thing.

My usual routine is:

4 oz of wheat grass juice

32 oz green smoothie, spinach-pineapple-banana, or kale strawberry banana are current favs

Salad with romaine or arugula, tomatoes, avocado, evoo and sea salt. Maybe other veggies.

Dinner is usually a GS or fruit

I could really go for a nice pate in a wrap, or something. But we're in the middle of a heat wave, and I can't be bother to make it, or to eat it, lol! Too hot! Don't have central air!

I'm also still transitioning, plus I'm having to deal with making sure I have enough calories for the amount of physical work I'm doing. Like today, I was up at 6:30 am and worked until a little bit after noon mowing, weedwhacking, hauling compost in a wheelbarrow, hauling 5 gallon buckets of water for the garden, moving piles of lumber, etc. In other words, real grunt work.

So breakfast was a big bowl of raw grain granola soaked in regular milk (needed to use it up) plus some raspberries from the nasty briars in my yard. Then I snacked on half a cantaloupe for the rest of the morning, and finished it for lunch along with a low carb wrap of mostly lettuce with a little bit of sliced roast beef.

DH and I had errands to run this afternoon, so dinner for me was a big mixed green salad with spinach, olives, mushrooms and feta cheese. DH decided to grill out, so he cooked up a huge batch of hamburgers. I didn't even want any, and before, I loved a good burger. Even more amazing, I didn't want to toast marshmellows, and that's almost a reflex with me when I see a campfire.

Told DH that the more I do raw, the less interesting cooked food seems to be. Not making any radical choices--just listening to the bod.

On a typical day...

I eat a good variety of mostly sweet fruits, as many as I want!
Watermelon, bananas, mangoes, blueberries, apples are just examples of my favorites.

In between my favorites, I eat other fruits that taste more acidy that I love. Including peaches, oranges, strawberries, pineapples, etc etc.

I use my juicer almost every single day in between fruit eating when I'm at home and make a good-size juice with a combination of three or more vegetables including celery, carrots, beets, cucumbers, bell peppers, parsley, and spinach.

At least 4 times a week I make myself a good-sized salad. I don't use every ingredient at the same time, but the foods I use include mixed baby greens, romaine, micro greens, sun-dried tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, celery, cucumber, red onions, garlic, mint leaves, oregano leaves, certain dried herbs and spices depending on my taste buds, carrots, beets, bell peppers, avocado or pine nuts, some olive or grapeseed oil, lemon or lime, agave, and the list can go on.

And lastly I will eat nuts, seeds and coconut at times. But I notice as time goes on I want nuts and seeds less and less...
